I have been killing him several times solo as a 70 rogue using different methods. For fastest runs I sprint through all undead packs from entrance and through the "rat cage" then vanish straight to the left after the cage, sprint allows you to run through and not get caught between the barred gates.

The times I did not get an orb drop was when I skipped all mobs in Scarlet side as well as when I only cleared the cathedral court-yard. I thought maybe getting Timmy to spawn would act as a trigger for Galford's loot table.

To get an orb (still not 100% cause the droprate isn't 100%) I clear the yard and the corridor where Galford is located. Have worked about 90% of the runs I've done so far. I am currently testing Certain numbers of mobs killed to get an orb.
Clearing yard + corridor yields 30 kills. I'm trying all numbers upwards from 20-30 atm.

Gonna report if I find something that seems to work other than corridor + yard clear.

He can actually be a tough fight if you're not paying attention. He tricked me into a deadly Burning Winds (stun + dot) and then charged up a Pyro, releasing a Blast Wave when they launched...I barely survived, but ate the next 2 Pyro's with a Grounding Totem.

Just keep an eye out and you'll have your orb in no time ^^

Highly recommended to kill the mobs at the yard. An orb just dropped for me on 8-9th mob. Might just be me being lucky, though.

Edit: This guy is NOT hard as a combat sword rogue... just pop all your CDs and CoS and he'll be lucky to even damage you ;)

Solo tips.. If you've cleared the hallway that he is in, it makes fighting him so much easier. Due to pyroblast being a long cast you can use LOS to cancel it by running into the hall or into the room the 2 monks are in (2.7k + dot is still alot of dmg if he does it twice vs you)

clearly not 64% drop rate. killed him 10 times yesterday. no orb.

I did this a a Protection Warrior with Kara/SSC/TK gear. It went fine except for a couple of problems.

Cadaver Worms - No health regen.
Black Rot - 10% reduced chance to dodge.

The exception to Cadaver Worms seems to be food which regenerates percentage of your health per second.

The undead shouldn't really be a problem. You can still pull 2-3 full packs and solo them with high enough avoidance. SC side, on the other hand, shouldn't be underestimated. Pull one group at a time. Any more will pretty much have you perma-disarmed, leaded to a severe gimping of your damage output. Too many 2h wielding Scarlet Galant's with too many Crusader Strike stacks will also leave you very dead, very fast. Groups with more than one Initiate take forever thanks to Flash Heal, I suggest focusing on one healer and using Intimidating Shout when it gets low.

As for Galford, you can spell reflect his Pyroblast.

Easy soloble as a 70 tankadin, his flames hit hard but not hard enough. just watch the damn patrols on your way tehre since they tend to show up and backstab you as often as possible.

I'm assuming that the droprate on Righteous Orb has changed since he did not drop any for me in the past couple hours. Can anyone else confirm?

I have no idea what you guys are saying i've been farming both sides of strat with about 1 run every 40 -50 minutes, every time i've killed this guy he has dropped an orb and this is my 13th run....

I've seen so many mixed answers about the orb being 100% chance to drop of Galford and it's hard to say which is right. Recently I've been running strat alot for orbs and out of the last probably, 12 kills; I've picked up 12 orbs from him. 100% of the time. Then again, in the past when I've run strat, I probably got an orb maybe... 30% of the time off of Galford. I can't say if they increased the drop rate in recent patches but I will say Galford has a pretty darn good chance of dropping an orb compared to everything else :)

His drop rate on the orbs has to have been nerfed. There is no way it's 68%. I just spent the last three hours running live side, killed this guy 5 time but 0 orbs!

he seems easy im fury but when i go into here i solo for orbs and fun im 74 i use 1 hander and shielld i know i should use 2 hander and shield but anyways hes easy just spank him as of 3.1 74 warrior can solo live and i kinda died on dead and gave up but i bet if i go bak and try again i can do it i was trying to dw on him and iin fury stance so ya so far just bosses and little trash as pos i can get 2 shards =boe blues and 3 orbs a run = 1/2 of shards for a crusader3/2 of orbs i find orbs high priced some ppl find the canon boss hard but realy easy just kinda run in grab bombs hslowly bake him ito a corner canon i use canon 3-4 times befor boss is dead his trinket is fun to play with nice for rp if a pirate lol mini gun!

Please people, stop the useless posts about how you are able to solo it with a 70+... Its not usefull to people in the intended level range of this instance as for now, since patch 3.3 with the random dungeon option, the place is farmed a lot more often because of good gear for leveling and the nice exp bonus you can get.

My question is if ppl who post here could please give us some tactics about how the fight should be done with a 5-man group around lvl 60.

(and yes I have several lvl 80s now that are able to solo them, but that doesnt help my leveling Feral Druid =P)

The orbs are highly coveted for Crusader on heirloom weapons.

Today i managed to kill him 10 times while farming Shards, Rep and his orbs and he dropped the orb the first 6 times. I then went off and got Crusader on some heirlooms, came back for one more orb and killed him 3 times with no drops, last time it dropped.

I did this as a mage and i found it was very fast if you go through one entrance and Blink past or freeze and Blizzard the Mobs for most of it, I was 80 so if i hugged the wall i could get past most groups but some you will aggro.

When you get to the first of the Scarlet Crusade you can Blink past the first 2 at the barricade, walk around the others and when you get to the stairs, go towards the 3/4 standing there and blink when about 10 yards away and you will get up the stairs, walk through and after the tunel, stick to the left side to avoid a group, pass through the hall and avoid Patrols by either waiting until they are in a group of people before blinking through them (By going 10 yards away from them and then blinking).

If you get into trouble, try not to run away but instead kill the group if you can or use Invisibility or any Invisibility Potions you may have. you will get to a corridor with 2 doors, take the one on the left and stay close to the wall on the right and you will not aggro the guards. when you get to the end of the building he is opposite the last boss, you can either continue Blinking past Mobs or you can go invisible and run into his room, Soloing his was not hard because most of his attacks did ~500 damage on me with Frost armour but that was absorbed by my Ice Barrier. I managed to kill him quickly enough and make my way out again.

I found Blink by far the most useful spell and any i aggro'd i would just Frost Nova and Blizzard them, using Cone of Cold if any survived. I did this in Early Heroics gear in Frost specc but it could be possible in any gear. You could try this without any gear and once you kill him, run into the Boss or Groups of Mobs and die, reset while you are a ghost and run in.

All accounted for, I Managed to get him done the last 4 times within 1 hour (Because the other times i was soloing the entire instance) although it could probably be done faster.

The drop chance is 95%. So it doesnt drop if you're VERY unlucky :)

The dropchance on orbs is not 95%.

It is 100% and 0%.

Sounds weird right? The reason is quite simple though.

If you kill the scarlet trash, he will drop 1 orb 100%.
If you stealth to and kill him, he won't drop one.
