I farmed for this with a level 70 warrior. It took about 8 runs through to kill him. Being a hunter, this was a great choice for me and I also went for Galgann's Fireblaster at the same time. If you are just running through for these two items, I recommend the back entrance to uldaman which is actually EAST of the entrance.

If you don't have a higher level friend to run you through it, be careful of Grimlok. As you turn the corner to get to him, he has about 3-5 mobs as bodyguards.

ive been farming for this with my hunter and a mates lvl 70 warrior (duel logging :D) and ive run the rear entry to him 13 times now and still no luck. ive had both of the other drops all the time and 2 times had nothing drop at all.

this thing has a moth of a droprate but will be worth it in the end.

this is also a good little run to make some good money for a bored lvl 60+ as the run is easy and takes about 15 mins.

The Eyegouger used to be a comparable alternative http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9480 but is now not in the running for some classes like Hunters who do not get any AP from strength. Grimlok may be stingy but it is worth farming if you can "double box" or have high friends to help you.

This is a sweet hunter weapon I picked up at 42. It hits hard and has the high agility good for MM and BM. Also, the stamina helps in all aspects, especially BM for Spirit Bond and the other Pet/Hunter health increases.

Picked this sexy baby up along with the Rockshard Pauldrons as soon as I hit 40. Ran with my friend's 70, its a short trip to hit both Grimlok and the Stone Keeper. Definitely worth it...Uldaman is now a hunter-loot paradise.

This weapon owns all... As a 44 hunter i had +35 agility on it (my main.. Proud noob) and it absolutely owns all. Arathi Basin is less of a pain in the neck because i can actually kill some decent players. Ice Barb Spear is pretty good aswell but its a level 51 (atleast) item which is annoying beacause it would be helpful in Battlegrounds before the HUGE queues come rolling in. I have no idea what level this is good 'till but for a hunter in the 40's it is the best weapon by far...

Agreed. I got it on a boost at 42, and I used and loved it all the way to Rage Reaver at 58 ( Scroll up for link ). That was before 2.3, even. I was too poor to afford a +35 Agi or Savagery enchant, but if you got the cash, listen to your sanity and get one of those on it. This baby WILL last you a good deal past Ice Barbed Spear, perhaps even until Outland ( Since no groups run DM anymore x] ).

Putting Icy Weapon on this thing gives it a hilariously large glow.

Seriously, try it. You end up with a giant glowing ball of light on the end of a stick. The actual weapon is completely hidden by the glow.

I had this at level 43 - 51 with my warrior. If memory serves correctly, 1 str = 2 attack power, so this has no real adjustment in terms of AP, so I'd still grab it if the hunter in the group has no objections. Worthy of an +agi or +str enchant for that bonus AP.

There's no change for the melee AP for warriors or paladins, but changing from STR to AP made it a much better hunter weapon since hunters get no ranged AP from strength.

That's not entirely true. It's actually worse for pallies now, assuming they have speced into Divine Strength.

But it would legitimate to not spec into Divine Strength until later on after you've gotten crusader strike since you'll have more strength at that point, and thus will get more of a bonus from DS. By that point, you'll probably have found another weapon anyway.

This weapon enchanted with +35 agility is one of the best choice of a level 49 twink hunter.

Aaaaaaand that's it!

That's the stat difference. Two Ribsplitters of Monkey may cost you 200-1000g depending on server, and two +20 agility will cost nearly four times as much as a +35 agility on two-hander. Finding the Ribsplitters, whether on AH or in BRD may take weeks and months of farming/AH watching, and there is only 10% chance for the said Ribsplitter to be of Monkey and not something else.

This seems like a very very good alternative to me for level 49 hunter twinking.

I tried Ulda as a group to get this for my hunter but failed. So I went back at 45 and soloed Grimlok easily, not one death in the 3 attempts it took to get the drop.

I used a gorilla pet and stam food buff but nothing else. It's a really easy trip through the back door.

I got Savagery (70 AP) enchanted - cheap at today's prices - and it gave me 105 AP overall!

As of 3.0.8, druids can use polearms, and this becomes one of, if not, the best weapons a feral can get before Outland and Agamaggan's Quill.

I got it on my hunter at level 40 and kept it until about level 55, probably a bit long but I just LOVED it. Totally worth getting a +25 agi enchant early on because your not gonna find a weapon as good as this until maybe Ice Barbed Spear (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19106) but even then it's Strength vs. Attack Power. It's worth getting rid of it to replace it with either the 2H Axe or the Staff from this quest (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10123) but it is in Outlands which means you have to hit 58 before you can get either of them. Good weapon, worth keeping, and of course some Dual Wields might match the stats but theres always that Attack Power and nothing beats the look of a polearm ;).

I say use vanquisher and force of the hipogryph both with agi enchants on them, and forget grimlok's... and leave this baby for druids in your party. if you have the time compare them if not trust me I already did it and dual-wielding the above mentioned is better... if you don't care much about HP.

Ran Uldaman earlier today, had no idea this weapon was here. When it dropped, I needed and a ninja, a gnome warrior, asked if he could need it because his off-spec was arms. Funny thing is that he wasn't even level 40. He also didn't wait to see what everyone said, and ninja'd it from me. And it was a really good upgrade for me. Granted I wasn't trained in polearms but I would have made more of a use of it than he would have.

While it's probably easier to find a group for Uldaman now with cross-realm dungeons, this is fairly easily solo'd with a Beast Master Hunter in the mid 40's, though somewhat time consuming unless you get lucky with drops. It's fairly quick to solo in the high 40's, and very much worthwhile to do so, because this will last you right up until your early quests in the Outlands. Ice Barbed Spear doesn't compare to this polearm in terms of ranged attack power (21 RAP for IBS vs. 35 RAP for Grimlok's Charge), so if you do AV you are much better off getting Bloodseeker from the AV quest.

While you're soloing for this polearm, you can also hit the Ancient Stone Keeper for Rockshard Pauldrons (unless you have Heirloom shoulders of course). The Rockshard Pauldrons can also easily last you until you're into the Outlands. The Ancient Stone Keeper is harder to solo in the mid 40's though, so either get them in a regular dungeon group or learn to play the class well while you're leveling it up.

I've solo'd for these now with two different hunters, first hunter (around Wrath launch) got both items in her first solo run around level 47. Second hunter took quite a few runs to get them. Did one run at 46, a couple at 47 and probably 6 or 7 at 48 before I finally got both (shoulders dropped in the run right before the run that the polearm dropped).

An awesome mid-level weapon for hunters who are running Uldaman at the time. At the 40's, don't waste the time of putting an agility enchant on, go with a + damage enchant if you really crave a nice glow.

I realize it's your $15 a month and you can be silly if you want, but you should really be practical and choose the enchant with the most statistical benefits. Passing over a best-in-slot enchant that will increase your performance just for a garbage enchant that "looks cool" is retarded. After the people who put +35 agility on this polearm get to you, you can stand around and look cool at the graveyard with your +5 weapon damage or icy enchant.

this polearm is truely your last upgarde before outland stuff, i checked my self any little upgrade and no, there is not if you have no boa but got good money i suggest really to put a 35 agility or 70 AP since you gonna keep it from 40-57(58) SURE. so do it. and for people that think about AV DO NOT GET THE STAFF(or polearm), GET the CROSSBOW it is op you gonna lvl with this op ranged weapon from 51-57(58) free for you to put a good scope(lvl 55 you can get a better scope kind +12 damages,)
