Could not find any solid statistics on drop rates, so I leveled a toon with 600 JC from 86 to 87 exclusively grinding Outcast Sprites and Stonebound Destroyers in The Jade Forest with the goal of obtaining Meta JC patterns.

Results:

1566 Kills
7 Meta pattern drops (Int/Crit & Agil/Crit patterns dropped, Str/Crit pattern didn't)

So for my sample the drop rate was 0.45%, roughly 1 drop for every 224 kills.

My other drops included:

60 Motes of Harmony
Lots of Windwool Cloth
Lots of Level 84 Greens
2 BOE rares
~Spiritwhisper Conch, Int Trinket 魂語海螺
~Scalebreaker Axe, 1h Agil Axe 破鱗者之斧

Since leveling my JC and seeing some trends on meta pattern drops and elaborating on the above drop rate data, I'm going to speculate on what I believe to be the drop rate for those of you trying to find those last few patterns.

1. Drop rate for a specific meta pattern is probably 0.1% (thats 1 in 1000 kills) from any MoP normal mob, (elites probably have a higher drop chance, but not enough to make them viable to farm)

2. When entering Pandaria your chances of finding any meta pattern is 14 times greater than 0.1% (as there are 14 different patterns to find), and if you Quest or run instances with another JC that has no patterns the drop rate will be 28 times greater ~finding a few patterns quickly is expected, finding your last pattern is gonna be painfull.

3. The more JC's in your group the higher the chance the pattern your looking for will drop. (but those JC's may roll for it too, but they cannot roll on patterns they already have)

The data in the table above is skewed as usual by non JC's Kills and from groups e.g it looks like raid and instance trash has a higher % drop chance, but in fact a 25 man raid may have 5 or 10 Jc's there so the drop chance is 5% or 10% chance more, but if your in a raid your level 90 already and probably got 10 meta patterns already so there is a good chance that a pattern will drop, just not the one you need.

So the best advice to speed up collecting all patterns would be find a JC that already has the pattern you need or that can bribed to /pass on the one you need and quest/run dailies/level with them in the group and join every Sha of Anger raid you can, get invited early and enjoy the wait as you fill the raid up by pulling as much extra trash as possible before and during the fight :)

Please feel free to point out if this is wrong with supplying accurate data by farming 1000 mobs solo with a fresh JCer toon and deleting the patterns before you learn them, and expect to see between 4 and 10 patterns dropping (total, not different patterns), if the RNG boss plays average.
