Wonder if this will do full damage to those targets in melee range, or split it. If the primary target recieves less damage than without the glyph, it could be very situational. On one hand you would want it for AoE, but on the other you wouldn't want it for single target fights, like bosses where the dps matters more.

Considering ret is a melee spec the drawback doesn't seem too high. The worst side is the risk of breaking cc, however if it's smart like Lava Lash/Flame Shock not affecting cc'ed targets then there shouldn't be any issue.

With this glyph active Exorcism still deals 100% damage to your primary target, so it is not a DPS loss even on a single target, if it's in melee range.

All secondary targets within melee range take 25% of your normal Exorcism's damage. It is not split between them.

The main problem is that it turns your nice, neat Exorcism into an AoE, aggroing everything around you - and that includes neutral parties - and losing its range. I'm Ret, not a Tank.

I usually use Exorcism in conjunction with a Judgement to deal with one thing at a time, but this would spoil the range effect. Powerful as it can be, it would require I change my entire play style.

Obviously for a couple good reasons, but the best being that it helps in aoe's targets in pvp and raiding.
In PVP, many uses, but can pause flag grabbing by mobs of alliance or horde who are attempting to cap.
In Raiding, helps 'chip' away at groups of mobs with AOE while you're still dealing solid single target damage.

In case anyone is wondering. This glyph works with Glyph of the Exorcist, but the "exorcism" (animation) only affects the main target, it doesn't spread to the others affected by the 25% AoE damage.
