I guess you could tag this as one of the most well-known staves in the game. I don't really see why though, besides the +29 int. If you're lucky enough to have one drop, either sell it for the gold or keep it for the NR, although it's not much. In my opinion I think it's one of those items that are better off being sold.

There are plenty of other staves that you will come across in a short amount of time that won't cost you anything.

This staff is probably one of the best pre-raid staves to get for any caster. Once it is replaced, I would recommend using this for NR if needed.

Wow was farming in Blasted Lands and 2 drop in bout 2 week farming. Asked a enchanter is put +30 intellect on them, he did and i put them in AH. Made 475 gold apiece gave enchanter only 150 XD.

I think the odds are a wee bit off on those stegadons perhaps. I killed every stegodon in the crater, went back and killed them all after they respawned, and got halfway through a third round and ran out of bullets. Not even a green /cry

The Glowing Brightwood Staff is a random world drop. Anyone out there trying to kill these NPCs has to realize that .02% means an average of 2 drops for every 10,000 kills. I know that acquiring epic items can take epic effort but anyone trying to farm for this staff is wasting their time.

Pretty much the best staff you can get for the -49 bracket. Even has a fairly decent damage range, so if you're a Shammy, you could hit reasonably hard with it. Personally I prefer the extra armor from using a shield, but if you don't fear warriors, pallies, rogues, hunters, and other shammies, go for it :)

I'm using this on my lock and i wouldn't trade it for Brightwood. Simply +spell damage is much more valuable on lock. Beside, this is lvl 42 and Brightwood 49... (I was lvl 49 as i wrote this)

I have this staff on a Mage and I can say with certainty that the extra 885 mana it generates for me is well worth it.

In addition it generates 150 Health for me as well which for a mage is very handy.

The Spirit is just a bonus in my opinion since I'm a fire mage primarily. Arcane mages would do better from the extra spirit since they can have a talent to let their mana regen continue while casting.

I know that once I get into Outland I'll likely find one that's better very quickly, this will at least do me until then and possibly after for a while.

Completely not worth it, especially for Mages and Warlocks who want some spell damage. Bought this for 225g in AH and a week later, got a better staff from a quest in Outlands at level 58.

This is a great twink staff, otherwise it is rather useless at this point. The main selling point for a twink is it's relatively insane stats and that is is above the Level Required 35 limit which means TBC enchants can be used on it. Keep in mind that is however is a very bad leveling item, at 49 you're pretty close to heading to Outlands and therefore the 9 levels of leveling this will take you to is not worth it. It's well known item stats explode once you hit Outlands.

Yes this has an insane amount of int and stam for its level, but I would think that http://www.wowhead.com/?item=11750 would about the same, and much easier to get. You give up 5 stam and 17 int for about 1% crit and 15 spell damage (not counting the nature resist, which is very situational).

Has anyone tried this as a lvl 49 twink enhancement shammy weapon? It has the most dps of any two-hander for that level and the stats would be nice considering all your other gear would have stats for melee damage, this would boost you mana pool and stamina a bit. Just a thought.

Levelling my Death Knight, I was just running around questing, and as there are loads of Scarlet Guards etc with an aggro range of about ten miles, I managed to kill a few when protecting an NPC and then dropped the staff! I sure wasn't expecting an epic to drop, then I looked at the drop chances and I was even more amazed! These things seem to drop when I'm not even looking for them! :)

Just bought this in the AH for 300g. Nice leveling staff for my alt...it's funny I remember this staff Pre-BC when I was a Warrior. Now that I'm spellcasting I slap myself in the face when people where buying this Pre-BC, upwards of 2k gold. Like a bajillion and a half old-world items without AP/SP/etc this staff won't change one bit. For this was their endgame weapon if they were unable to get into 40mans way back when. Lots of Int and some other stats, as little in those times had actual SP on it.

It will, however, become something more than a simple stat-stick when all that yummy Int is being used to generate SP. Might be worth holding onto if you find it around now, it could be useful later. There's actually a bunch of other BoEs that will as well (some greens that will be blues, for example) but this one comes to mind for some reason.

What's so great about it? Staff of Jordan is usable at 14 levels lower, but upgrading from Staff of Jordan to Glowing Brightwood Staff gives you:

-2 Stamina
-2 Spirit
+7 Intellect

And no, I'm not going to count the nature resist because who needs nature resistance gear as a leveling healer?

Honestly if you have this on a frost mage with a nice enchant on it you can really kick some ass,the only thing i recommend is when you get to level 60 use azuresong mageblade and hellfire tome, these combined is an obvious upgrade if you are doing raids, but also equally good for pvp. and if you arent getting any drop from molten core for the mageblade, use staff of hale magefire, its also good.

My Frost Mage picked up this staff at lvl50 while questing in the Blasted Lands. She's now lvl72, and still has it. I have yet to find a superior weapon stat-wise that does not require a toon to be at least lvl80 to wield.

The +29 INT is a lifesaver for me, as I tend to run out of mana quickly. The +15 Stamina is great for those times when a target gets past my Mage's Frostfire and Frostbolt. The +15 NR is a great bonus, especially when you're PVPing against those blasted Droods. The only thing I find lacking is the +9 Spirit, which kind of doesn't mean anything to me when you take into account Mage Armor and Glyph of Mage Armor. That and the fact that I can't Reforge the blasted thing...
