I use this on my level 48 Rogue. All I can say is: Amazing. The damage out put in phenomenal for the level. I'm critting high with Sinister Strike, Riposte (I'm Combat spec) is going amazing, too.

There's only one minor bad point to this, which is the DOT procs quite frequently, which can lead to Gouge being broken prematurely, so keep an eye open and you should be fine.

(I also manage to nab this for 90gold, so I'm really pleased with the joy it's brought me)

By far the best 49 twink weapon. The slow speed of it is great for rogues, but not so great for fury warriors. If you are trying to twink, get this weapon and a Gut Ripper in your offhand. Deadly combo!

Although this sword's 37.0 DPS is excellent for its level as well as its slow speed, rogues may find this weapon to be somewhat troublesome. Be warned that the weapon procs semi-often and will break effects such as gouge and sap.

If you are specced for swords and plan on doing a lot of high 40s BGs, by all means pick up the sword if it's in your price range.

However, if you are planning strictly on leveling, get yourself a Thrash Blade -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17705 -- and then work on getting a Krol Blade.

The Thrash Blade puts out comparitive damage to the Bloodrazor due to its matching speed, similar damage range, and extra swing proc. What's even better yet, if you have 5/5 Sword Spec (rogues), you will have times where the sword spec will proc from the sword's proc, resulting in even more carnage.

I used this in my rogue's MH and the Doomforged Straightedge in the OH. The proc didnt bother me much since I didn't use many stuns that damage would break since I am a Combat Sword build. I can say that the damage output from those two items at the minimum levels to use them is sick. Those two weapons were one of the best combos I have had in the game. The proc seemed to be on the order of 2% or there abouts.

I've been seeing this on the auction house, and been debating about getting it on my new rogue. I know on my first rogue, it lasted me a tremendous while; I never really got to enjoy a lot of the level 60 dungeons (and thus, replace it), so I had it well into my first trips into Molten Core).

But I knew that in TBC a green would inevitably replace it. Checking through green swords, level 57 seems to be the spot (the lowest of TBC items) where DPS is matched (37), although the weapon speed is too fast to match this weapon's top end.

However, Foe Reaver (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29913), a weapon you earn just from following through your first chain in outlands is 44.6dps, a clear upgrade.

Still, assuming you don't sit around Azeroth looking furiously to replace Blood Razor, that's something like a minimum of 13 levels (45 through 58) this could last you till you're replacing it with quest items.

But I can agree with SaxxonPike, assuming you get a run through or group for Maraudon, you can have Thrash Blade as low as level 45 as well. A slightly lower total DPS/damage range; but with arguably a much nicer proc and you save yourself the cash.

very good weapon with a low drop rate i got it off a plant thing in tanaris and have comboed using it with widowmaker and sword of omen. i keep widowmaker in main hand and sword of omen in offhand then after i ambush an npc i switch widowmaker and bloodrazor to make very a effective battle strategy

A faster weapon with the same DPS would be preferable, really. Speed in regards to tanking just really gives you steadier DPS, which in turn gives you steadier threat generation. It's preferable over a slower weapon, particularly on pulls, etc., so you're not waiting to build aggro on a very slow weapon. 2.7 speed is about as slow as you can get for most one handers, and the proc is negligible for tanking and probably eats up any stats that would otherwise be on it.

I'd sell it and get a faster weapon for tanking. At the level you're not going to have an optimial weapon most likely, but this sells well and whatever you're tanking with probably costs less. It's a DPS weapon, not a tanking one.

I've been farming Skymane Gorillas in STV in order to see if I could get this sword to drop. The level on these mobs in now 41, with King Mukla being 42. I believe this change was made when 2.3 went live. Can someone please post if they get this sword to drop post 2.3 from the gorilla's? I think the loot table might have changed.

I think Thrash Blade is better and I will tell you why:
I got myself a Razorblade and DW it with Sword of Omen. Sword spec procs comprise of 3% of my total damage.
Thrash Blade has 5% chance to proc, just like Sword Spec, so it would increase my damage by 1.5% in the worst case.
Bloodrazor's proc is abysmally rare, but it still has done 0.3% of my total damage. 1.5% - 0.3% = 1.2% more damage.

I think 1.2% would manage to compensate the loss I'd have from using a weapon that's only 0.1 faster and hits for 4 damage less.

Actually people saying thrash blade is superior are saying trash (pu intended). The speed, The average damage, the lower end damage and the high end damage are all superior to that of thrash blade. The proc on both weapons are ridiculous so don't count on the proc when grinding or PvPing. Things happen fast so the average performance ALWAYS beats the rare one. Also the proc is superior to thrash blade's considering your 0.3% vs 1.2% were probably estimated over less than 10s of proc (shouldn't take you longer to kill a mob while grinding) and in PvP this is invaluable vs other rogues thanks to the bleed effect canceling their vanish attempts.

Actually ... for your sad, sad person... It doesn't count the proc nor the proc duration. It counts average damage, top end, low end, DPS and speed. The Thrash Blade proc or Blood razor procs are USELESS! Never count on a proc. Only a noob counts on a proc and then goes around saying "If it had procced you'd be dead etc". What counts in average performance not 1 time performance.

Also the sword spec doesn't proc off Thrash blade's proc and vice versa. If you're so stubborn I'll parse the crap and prove it to you.

(As for EJ I post AEP values because I created a sim calculator. So If you think you know what to talk about... get off your horse.)

This item is no longer available from the gorillas in STV or from king mukla himself. These Mobs were nerfed i believe in patch 2.3 and the max level for any of them i believe is 42. prior to the patch the gorillas were around level 50. as a result of them being nerfed to the lower 40's there loot tables were adjusted appropriately as well so contrary to the old information wowhead is listing abouve you will not be able to loot bloodrazors from the gorillas or king mukla located on jaguero island in STV

Haha, this so cool, youre not going to believe me..
First, I was grinding to lvl I killed about 90 mobs in WPL then Wall of the dead dropped, epic shield. I was so happy, cause that is my only char at that realm.. Then I played ST and a bit outside the instance Bloodrazor dropped, you should know how happy I got, cause we were 5 in the party ofc, and I won it :D
So I am playing on Anachronos and they got huge prices I dont know if I did the right choice with 300-350g on Wall of the dead and 325g BO on Bloodrazor.
I could maybe get it for more, but I havent sold it yet, just lay it out on AH. Hope I will get the money.

By the way, I am a lvl 52 shaman.

this thing is going for 500g on my server...ridiculous price for what you get. i could get my epic mount for the cost of this blade, and get either thrash blade for free or gut ripper for cheaper than this.

its a good weapon but people often overcharge for it, so my advice is dont give in and overspend for this item. save the money for something worthwhile like epic mount or nice enchants.

unless youre twinking 49, in wich case you have more money than should be allowed, seeing as 49 is the most expensive bracket to twink at.

Not sure if this is a bug but some times when the weapon effect procs it gives my warrior a full rage bar yet doesn't always happen.

Warrior is level 50 specced for devastate so I don't think it's insane crits giving my an instant full rage bar.

Just a thought for some aspiring rogues out there.

If you're looking to go combat spec by endgame and top off the dps charts, then you may want to consider a sword/fist spec (combined, not either/or).

This allows you to gain the 5% chance at an extra hit from your sword (should be in the off-hand) and 5% extra crit from your fist weapon.

My recommendation for a high lvl 40's rogue (I'm not sure if there is a better fist option for twinks, but if there is someone please correct me and post) I would suggest the Vilerend Slicer.

The cons are listed above as other people have mentioned, which is breaking gouge and saps, but let's be honest your average BG is about as coordinated as Bush's anti-terrorist efforts...which mean syou're going to have people breaking those relatively often. And if you are going with this type of spec you're probably hitting for the highest dmg possible which means you may sacrifice your survivability just a touch.

I'm sure that there may be a better fist weapon for the 40-49 bracket on twinks, but if it's out ther eit's not a combo that I've tested yet.

well i did some testing today and the proc is affected by warriors trauma so insted of ticking for 12 every 3 secs it ticked for 16 every 3 secs. now pure speculation if u were to dw 2 of these id assume they both could proc then u could have rend, deeps wounds, and trauma that would be quite the blood bath i think.

Due to it's high damage this is the best weapon for a non-backstabbin rogue (there are no weapons with higher damage for the level). However, if you're not going to twink, get yourself a WSG sword or Thrash blade. The damage differance is about 5, but they both have procs / stats to make up for it, so they're about as good choices as Bloodrazor. For an offhand weapon I'd stick with the WSG dagger cause of it's sweet stats.

I just sold this on Kil'Jaeden for 800g within 30 minutes of posting it. I know KJ is a fairly high population server, but if you do get this weapon to drop, you can probably get a decent amount for it. A lot more than what this site suggests.

I just got this sword from a silithid in Tanaris, not far from the Un'Goro entrance. (By the hive there.) It's useless for my shaman, and haven't put it in the AH yet.

One note, the damage on this weapon is 70-130, not 70-131 as noted in the pic above. (Perhaps it changed with Cata?)

From what it seems, it looks like this sword is a world drop. I wouldn't recomend trying to farm it but you can look at the AH every day. Who knows you might get lucky and get it for really cheap. I saw a warlock giving it away because it took up space in his bags. He probably didn't know it sells for much ha.

Unfortunately nobody seems to be interested in this for transmo purposes. I've had it on the auction house for about 7 months now going as low as 30 gold (yes, 3-0 thirty) and not a single bite.
