Looks like 奧索的算盤 v2.0. As strong as that trinket was in Wrath, this one looks like it would be worth getting, especially for any healer that stacks crit, i.e. disc priests. Where this takes a crit to proc, its also a smart heal making it much more valuable.

Update: This and 無命之心 are looking to be the two best healing trinkets from Dragon Soul. While 七徵聖印 is a decent trinket, the icd on the haste proc is 2 min icd making it unattractive for some.

I did some testing on the PTR today over the course of 10 minutes. I seem to be coming up with a 25 second internal cooldown. I would assume this shorter ICD because it requires a critical heal rather than any heal like 熾熱能量之眼. In addition, the internal cooldown does not seem to be shared with 熾熱能量之眼, as I had the procs going off back to back.

Edit 09/02/2012: Patch notes indicates that it will proc once again from Healing Rain, probably puting this trink into the indiscutible BiS for resto shamy again.

I would go so far as to say that Holy priests and Resto druids would have as much, if not better, up-time with this than Disco priests and Holy pallies. Granted the latter two may tend to have more crit chance than Holy priests and Resto druids, but if I can assume that it procs off "critical heals" not just direct critical heals, I know my Resto druid crits all the time.

With Wild Growth and if you look at how often Lifebloom crits alone, then dang, they will have some good numbers. With my Holy priest however...I am sure this would be practically on ICD. With CoH and PoH filling in nicely whenever I am raid healing. Not to mention if I am single target healing, I get 10% crit from my Chakra state, 25% now that it is possible to keep HW:Serenity buff at 100% and I usually have around 20% anyways, putting me at over 55% if I am going to be on the same target.

Regardless, since we are entering into the last real content of the expansion, everyone should see great use out of this as our crit ratings jump.

*Don't have mine yet so I do not know for sure whether or not it it crits off of AoE/HoT spell crits but I would assume it would since if not, it would be near useless for some classes, save for the intellect.

After having horrible luck in Firleands (none of our 3 healers had either jaws or eye, not even normal version), this was a nice surprise to see drop of our very first day and the very first kill in Dragonsoul. I was thrilled when I got it!

Started looking at some logs however, and this just isn't the best trinket for Dragonsoul imo. It's good, but it just doesn't suit the instance well if you ask me. Dragonsoul for the most part is spamming AoE-heals everywhere, unlike Firelands which was a good mixture and a lot less stacking in general. Last night we did 7/8 and the proc of this trinket was ranging from 0.9% of all heals done to 3% of all heals done, the lowest being Ultraxion and highest being Morchok. In the end, I'm guessing the effectiveness of it is even less, and results in overhealing from other spells. Let's say you got entire raid stacked up, all around 40%-60% hp so you're spamming all AoE-heals you got in your arsenal. This procs, bringing one raidmember to 80-100%, but to what use? If spirit-link totem is active it's nice, and smart heals will also not affect this person then. In general however, that topped up person will still receive a decent amount of the healing the others receive, and most of it will go to overhealing.

This may end up useful in certain fights where stacking isn't the best option, or something like Morchok heroic where you have 2 groups of 5 so less AoE-healing going on, but for the most part I'm not super impressed with it. Could probably be very strong in arena, though I don't play that seriously enough to make a judgement about it. I keep using it atm due to lack of better alternatives, but hoping to end up with the stacking spirit one (thank god they buffed that) and the haste one from VP to get my hastecap (I just love on use trinkets as a healer as well).

I have the raid finder version of this trinket in my holy paladin and the proc counts for around 3% to 5% of the healing done (usually around 5). The proc seems to be called Nick of Time but I couldn't find the spell in Wowhead.

Worth Reading:
Assuming the drop rates posted are accurate I only see a 3% drop rate on a given raid clear ( The 5 bosses that drop it ranging from a 0.4%- 0.8% chance, total of 3% over the 5 kills). While that is par for the course on many items dropped by multiple bosses, those drop rates just suck.

Me Whining:
The Valor trinkets don't justify their purchase if you are able to get the other gear form DS. For me personally I'm already at the haste cap (2005) and reforge all spirit to mastery and still never have mana problems. This trinket is great but I fear I'll never get it and continue to be stuck with Petrified Pickled Egg.

I don't know if this is the smartest choice in the game for raw throughput, but I've seen this trinket save lives from time to time. There aren't really many other trinkets you can say can have that kind of influence on the outcome of a fight.

The fact that it's a 10% chance to procc off of crits is pretty ridiculous to me. It can be easily wasted if no one requires a heal, and getting it to procc again is just RNG within RNG.

Thinking about it more in-depth, most healers have roughly a 10-20% chance to crit. To figure out what the true procc chance of it is, just remove one "0" from your crit. So it's basically a 1-2% chance to procc.

Honestly it doesn't seem all that powerful over the other trinkets out there, like the Valor Point one, Eye of Blazing Power, or even DMC:T.

Now if it had a bigger chance to procc (or even 100% because you shouldn't have an RNG within an RNG for a trinket...) with maybe a slightly longer ICD, it'd be much more useful, but unfortunately, they want you to crit 10 times before you get one. It's literally worse than a Fire Mage when it comes to RNG .-.
