This is an absolutly amazing item for 19 twink warriors. The best, period. The reason I say this, is because the redbeards crest is under lvl 35, making it only able to recieve 7 stamina. Where as this shield has no requirement, meaning you can get the 18 stamina or possibly even a resilliance enchant!

I use this on my 19 pala and i have 7+ stam on it
it good if u tank to a lot of block on it so u block half of the damage mobs give
and a relly nice tank shield. but http://www.wowhead.com/?item=3761 is nice to if u cant get in BFD in 18 (u need a boost not a group). and OFC http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12997 is nice

This is just me and my opinion, but I wouldn't put a spike on a green shield, if I am levelling a warrior to tank (with shield) or a pala to aoe grind I would make sure they have blue quality shields at least all the way through their levelling. Its an important piece of kit.

- Marbled Buckler -
Very nice shield as its possible to obtain at lvl 23 from the quest A Vengful Fate involving heading to Razorfen Kraul. Good Stats too. Get this if you can because the BOE blues don't get as good as this one until around level 27.

- Commander's Crest -
A nice shield to start off your 20's with good tanking stats, worthy of a iron/mithril spike if you can afford it. Obtained from Commander Springvale at a 33% drop rate in Shadowfang keep

- Thermaplugg's Central Core - One of my fave's at this level, has a chance to do damage when hit, which causes threat, anything you can get that causes extra threat at low level is good although 5% is a small chance its quite good for a budding aoe pally.Obtained from Mekgineer Thermaplugg at a 32% drop rate in Gnomeregan

They're some of the shields I would recommend getting at low level, worthy of an iron/mithril spike. Once you get past 30 and levelling starts to slow, then you could think about thorium or even felsteel spikes.

Rare/Epic Shield list level 29-49
This is a list of shields, listed from lowest item level to highest, you might want to make special note of the following shields;

Vigilant Buckler - Acquirable at level 30
Pit Fighter's Shield - Acquirable at level 32
Aegis of Battle - Acquirable at level 40

These shields have no required level other than the quest they are rewarded from, some quests are obtainable long before you can actually accomplish them (at least on your own). The shields in the list above are generally higher quality than other shields acquirable at the same level for this reason. So check these ones out and if you have a higher level friend (lets face it, we all do!), then suck up to them and get them to give you a hand to get them. The 3 shields liksted above, if acquired at the minimum required level, would surely be worthy of at least a thorium shield spike, or a good enchant, unless of course you can afford any of the 3 epic shields in the main list.

Why paladin shammy? and the frost resist is good for being a flag carrier when there is a mage on the other team.
