This quest is first attainable at level 29. They are eligible for all level 35 enchants. The total exp for the questline at 29 (not counting discovery exp or exp from killing monsters, both avoidable) is 12,300. If you cannot get them w/o dinging 30, then Wolfclaw Gloves or Algae Fists would be good choices.

You get 12,330 exp. for the whoole quest chain at level 29, roughly 4-5 bars you have leeway to do this quest if you are a twink, and itt's worth it, the gloves are one fo the best.

Just out of curiosity,the quest chain starts at lvl 29 which is great, but how can a lvl 29 get these when that last couple of parts of the quest chain require you to be lvl 31 and the very last part requires lvl 35?

Morphx. you can start the chain at 29. and complete it all. the reason for it to say is because if it wasnt a chain you would need to be level 31-35+. but this can be completed as 29"with a friends help i might suggest."

confimed. still able to complete at 29 with help of lvl 70. well clear of leveling. or even better when killing birds (beginning of chain) bring a high level class with rez ability. die, let them kill, rez and loot. no xp.

NOTE: You cannot get these as a level 29 twink HUNTER, post patch 2.3, IF you want Master Hunter's Bow/Gun.

Now that I have your attention, I will revise my statement by adding that if it is at all possible, you must do it with the utmost caution and preparedness.

(It takes 33,900xp to get to 29 from 28, and 31,002xp to get to 30 from 29. I'm not sure why it's less, but those are the numbers as seen in game post patch 2.3)

To get the MHB/G you must complete three quest chains and a final quest which totals 38,100xp. That brings you 3 bars into level 29 with the quest xp alone! Don't forget all the xp you get from the dozens of innocent animals you butchered. This leaves you with 26,802xp before you level to 30. The quest chain for these wonderful gloves will cost you 14,015xp in quests alone. This quest does involve some killing which will naturally yield unwanted xp.

Your wiggle room for killing mobs that yield xp AND new zone discovery xp is a mere 12,787xpoints. That might sound like a decent number, but it's not.

I am the leader of a twink guild and a hunter member started the STV hunting quests at the very beginning of level 28 with next to no rested bars. He had a high level run him through it all with the minimum kills. Once winning the gun his xp was half way into level 29. Then, I personally started the quest chain for these gloves half way through level 29. I reached a point where I was 3 bars till leveling and had to stop. I only have about 5000 xp left and the quest chain still requires over 6000. I will sadly never have the grips on my rogue, if only i had planned ahead.

Unlike the tone of my openning line, I'm not saying it's impossible. I was rested, and didn't keep track of how much xp i was getting from kills, but by my estimates the quest chain still had me beat. To do this successfully... if that's possible.. will require a lot of planning, and a lot of free time.

First, long before you reach level 28 you'll want to go through all the zones you'll visit while questing so that you don't have to worry about zone xp. Then the moment you turn level 28 you must have completed gathering EVERYTHING for twink gear that requires xp to acquire except the gun and gloves (and the raptor hide tunic, but that comes with the gun in the raptor quest chain) when you ding level 28 stop everything you're doing. Don't kill a soul. Grab a level 70 (to maximize the absorbtion of xp from kills) and complete the hunting quests by killing ONLY the things that are needed for the quest. What you might do is keep your 70 friend out of group so that he can kill things that might attack you when you agro.

If you're less than half way into 29 when you're done then you might be able to make it through the quest chains for the gloves. Follow the same strategy with your level 70. At points you need to kill mobs for their drop.... let the mob kill you while your 70 (with rez abilities) is in group, don't release spirit till the thing is killed, rez, then loot. Never log out in an Inn or city, and if you can manage it, don't log out at all.

If someone is a level 29 hunter who has managed to get both completely after patch 2.3... by all means let us know.. but from what I've gathered so far, it's extremely hard and more than likely impossible now. Thanks Blizz, now my hunter twink can't be as good as my rival.

A nice alternative: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=888. Slap 15 agility on it and you're golden. It's a decent drop rate and they match the dark gear I wear better anyways.

It is possible to do it all post 2.3, but it ain't easy.

For an alliance hunter, it is 100% possible to do this quest, master hunter, with PLENTY of XP left over. I don't have much (4K) because I also did the quest for Archeus (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2000 EDIT: now doable pre-28!!!) and Arcane Runed Bracers: (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=4744). It was pretty intense. Before I begin, this is a basic guide for those interested in this particular gear, especially for TBC enchants. Please don't argue about the gear or the enchants one chooses and how what is superior for whom... that's not what this post is for.

So here it goes:

At 27, you must discover all the areas you need to discover... this may seem minor but I assure you it is not. It is a lot of XP... if you are concerned about dying a lot you can two box it like I did with a higher level out of group protecting you, or have a very patient friend help. Here's a list of zones (after the beginner ones, which I suggest you do also so that you can feel free to travel) that are necessary to do these quests / handy to have later:

Eastern Kingdoms: Arathi Highlands (for bracers quest and AB battleground), Wetlands (for boats and on your way to Arathi), Stranglethorn Vale (ALL or at least most of the northern / middle parts), Duskwood (for Archeus, discover it all). I also did Hillsbrad because I want to farm Deadman's Hand (from SM) when I have spare time... and all the area on the way up to SM of course.

Kalimdor: Ashenvale (this one is iffy, you want it for WSG area but not much else, though I did a quest for a ring up there as well: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9522), Barrens (on the way to Ratchet / Thousand Needles), Thousand Needles (from Great Lift to Shimmering Flats), Tanaris (just Gadgetzan, don't worry!), and finally Dustwallow March (I just did Theramore, swam across to where the wreck is until I discovered "The Quagmire")

I advise you double check my work by reading through each part of the quests to make sure you know where you need to go in advance.

My next advice is do not ding 28 until you can sit down and do it all in one sitting (don't let your rested XP build up too much though from 27, you gotta burn it all in 27 by grinding!). I picked a night I had nothing planned and did all the quests over the course of a few hours. The moment I turned 28 I started with the Archeus quest, then the Master Hunter quests (dinged 29 on the part before King Bangalash), then I did the Arcane Runed Bracers, and finally the Racing Grips one.

The strategy as others have mentioned, is you must be dead. You must avoid mob XP at all costs. I did this on for all the Master Hunter "kill x" quests. I died right outside the Nessingway camp, and then just had my ghost in group follow my main around while he killed the necessary mobs. Then I had him rez back at the camp for turn in. For Ladimore, the animal bosses, and a part in the Goblin quest line I was OUT of group, had my twink tag the mob and then my main kill it. That results in very little XP (usually under 50). For the vultures I died next to all of them, had my main kill them all, rezzed my twink and looted the bones. I could have done this for the animal bosses, but it was just kind of a pain for those 1 time kills.

I apologize, I did not add up the quest XP. Most of the info here on Wowhead is correct though (except this one, it was an extra 1300 XP for me as others have noted as well: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1187). All in all, a tough but interesting experience.

Wouldn't it aslo be easier to have a warlock summon you to a few of the locations you need like SM, and any of the BG vendor areas etc. that way you don't actually have to run through some of those zones collecting XP just to get the battleground gear or instance drops. I don't see any reason why you couldn't get summoned to nessingwary as well. pick up the quests, die by a croc near the camp and then go to the areas you need as a ghost. You won't get any XP for discovering the areas but you will still get the quest kills etc. Its a bit extra work but will save you a TON of XP gains. Oh and don't log out in towns or inns when making a twink. Why even worry about rested experience if you don't need to. .Log outside towns and save yourself a headache later.

You can now (patch 2.4) do Archeus quest chain @ lvl 27, so get that outta the way before you hit lvl 28.

For those that are looking to gain very little exp while doing kill quests, the best method is as follows:

Have your 70 buddy stay out of party. Your soon to be twink will tag the mob first by doing as little damage as possible (ie rank1 spells or gray weapons that you are high in skill with)

The key is to NOT be in party with your helper and to do very LITTLE damage. This will give almost no xp per kill.

Of course you can always party up and die on each mob, but if you do this right you will only gain a couple hundred exp for all of your kill quests combined.

It is possible to get this gloves now without dinging 30? after ... dont remember patch name but after "a patch" they seted up all xp reward from quests by 30%.. i wont try if it is INPOSSIBLE.. please reply someone

Best gloves for warrior/paladin also. Tried some combinations with Tiger hunting gloves and Dog training gloves but these with +15 strength are the best for overall.

These gloves can be easily obtained post-3.x because of the ability to turn of experience. ding 29 and immediatly turn off xp, farm out all the items that you need to twink out your hunter/rogue and then turn xp back on for some serious bg action.

Once a Twink favorite, you can no longer obtain these gloves as the Quest which rewarded them, called "Safety First" was removed with the Shattering in Cataclysm.

That quest was part of the "Goblin Sponsorship" quest chain and given by Razzeric, located in the Shimmering Flats in the old, unflooded Thousand Needles.

The other reward option for completing this quest was: 拉澤瑞克的安全帶.
