If you can get your hands on this recipe for a decent price and don't mind putting in the time to fish up the deviates (which isn't bad at all, especially if you're Horde), this potion can speed you through leveling Alchemy, basically trading 1 Earthroot for a skill point all the way to 120, and still yielding significant skill-ups well past that. The full progression (skill wise) is as follows:

Orange: 90
Yellow: 120
Green: 140
Gray: 150+

This doesn't show up on the Alliance AH very often, but as soon as you can 1 hit around level 15 mobs this can easily be farmed by killing the cats and giraffes and any other mob in the area W and NW of XR. Took me all of 20 minutes rounding up and consecrating the cats with a 70 shockadin.

The Sen'jin Growth hex lasts 5 min. However, drinking the Elixir of Giant Growth actually removes the growth hex instead, reverting you back to normal size.

4) I am ware it's not easy to get but it's possible you might have some from before. Anything else seasonal giving size is a must to make yourself even bigger!

Drink a Winterfall Firewater, use the Hallow's End Pumpkin Treat, use Heroism/Bloodlust and mount up on the Kodo/Elekk/Netherdrake then /kiss Mojo -> big big big.. *awe*

i actually stumbled across this but there is a drop from the guys jsut outside tunnel to winterspring that drop a green potion that increases your size and stacks with witch doctor size buff FYI

if you are horde - sell this on neutral AH for double price your server usually pays (2g is ridiculous btw, it goes for 25 and more on mine, and that's horde's AH).

if you happened to choose alliance then neutral AH is very well the only way how you can get the fancy potions in reasonable amount of time.

Its random on the loot table because its a zone drop.

Zone drop - Able to drop from any mob in the zone. Impossible to predict where or when it will drop next. Generally zone drops have higher drop rates than world drops and are relatively farmable.

Does mob level matter when farming this?

I see from the raptors (put "sun" in the filter) that the Screechers and Scytheclaws have about the same total kills (over 110k, a good sample I think), yet Screechers have over double the drop rate.

Farming this sucker on a low level Alliance toon can be a pain. Thankfully, Rachet provides a few quests to take your mind off the grind and can get you a few levels.
Try casually questing, killing massive amounts of mobs and making a macro saying you'll buy the recipe off anybody who happens to find it. Of course people in the area could be after the same thing you are, but it can't hurt to ask! And don't forget to check the AH often-- you never know when one may pop up!

I've had the questionable honor of farming this recipe three times on Alliance characters, twice as a 70 and once as an 80.

You'll obviously want to kill anything that moves and has a loot table. And while I haven't found any places that are really conducive to AOE farming, my preferred area is Sludge Fen. It's reasonably quick to get to from Ratchet. You can take laps around the pool, one shotting everything, and the respawn rate is pretty ridiculous so if someone else is there for a quest or also farming, there's enough to go around. While everyone's luck will be different, I've never had to spend more than an afternoon on this route before the recipe dropped.

You may also have assembled an entire Brackwater set by the time you're finished, which is a plus if you collect outfits.

Something interesting to note- Alchemists with the 'Mixology' feature will be slightly bigger when drinking these than non-Alchemists.
Tested it out today as a tauren with another tauren friend.

If you want to farm this recipe and have a character with skinning, I'd use the Raptor Grounds just west of Northwatch Hold. The raptors there respawn pretty fast... not so fast that you can kill em with no pauses, but after the time taken to skin the corpses there should be another group spawned somewhere in that small valley.

The entrance is a small path to the south just west of Northwatch Hold's gate. Usually there are 2 raptors right next to it (unless they've been killed and haven't respawned yet.)

To restate an above comment for clarity, the character you farm with does not have to have alchemy to loot the recipe.

With the new patch changing the barrens the drop rate for this pattern is significantly increased. I've gotten many just while questing and with no intentions of farming.

As with the Savory Deviate Delight recipe, the drop-rate for this potion has been increased substantially. Although I am pretty sure it is still a zone drop (i.e. no mob has a higher chance than any other), I highly recommend the pirates over on Fray Island. Other than respawning extremely fast, they each give you rep for four goblin factions. To get an idea on the increased drop rate:

In other words, I killed a group of three pirates standing around and all three mobs dropped the recipe. I spent around 15 minutes on the island and got 5 Giant Growth recipes and two Savory Deviate recipes.

This is getting ridiculous... I have seven of the blasted things by now.
All seven dropped within two days.
I have no toons that are alchemists.
At the moment they are not sellable on the AH, not even for two silver.

there are two recipes, one lasts 40mins and gives you 13 strengh and the other one lasts 20mins and gives you 8strengh. i already have the 40mins one for my horde but it must be rare because i've been trying to get it for my Alliance and can't find it :/

Seems to be quite high drop rate for a zone drop. I've always gotten at least 1 while leveling my characters from 10 to 25. Today i was getting my skinning up with my alt. Got my skinning from 80 to 102 and i already had 4 of these in my bags.

There's a herd of Giraffes found around the plains north of Ratchet, in Northern Barrens that always give this recipe (!)
You can't miss them, as they're allways like 7-8 of them running/walking around very close of each others.

Fore the Recipie ingredients:

變異魚 can be easily found n fished up in the waters of all the oasis in 北貧瘠之地
(when ye do, you get a good chance of fishing up other stuff like 美味淡蘭姆酒, which is easy to get n good for low levels )
-Alliance, just go to Booty Bay and then take the boat to Ratchet and go to the nearest Oasis.
-Horde, just go to the Cross Roads and then to the nearest oasis.

-For alliance, it can be easily found n gathered in and around the area of the Gol'Bolar Quarry in 丹莫洛 (my favorite gathering place for farmin' Earthroot)
-For Horde, the best places appear to be 莫高雷 , as it's dotted on along the zone's cliffs n it's close to Thunder Bluff.

Why does this drop from almost everything in the Northern Barrens?

According to Wowhead, the highest drop rate is about 6% - but this is way too small in my opinion - try 60%. Just run a new character through the Northern Barrens, and you are pretty much guaranteed to get at least handful of these damned things. Wogead has these listed as selling for a little over 1g on the AH, but in the realms I play in, you can't even give them away. Once your alchemist has the recipe, the rest just become vendor trash

I'm not usually one for lowering drop rates, but this is one item that could stand to be lowered. They might as well be vendor trash/gray now as often as they drop.
