I am seeing many fire spec mages getting the other crafted pants instead of these and I don't know why. To me these look superior to the other pants at least for fire mages where crit rating is one of the most valuable stats and mastery is one of the worst stats. These have more crit and they dump the mastery for haste which is also an upgrade as well as the red socket vs. yellow socket and since mages are recommended to gem pure intellect gems this will insure you get the socket bonus. (also haste opposed to mastery which makes the bonus better too)

Technically these should go with the priest gear because of their icon and their color scheme while the others are colored like the mage tier, but that is no reason to get worse pants.

Not sure about on other servers, but on mine these are very profitable. Sold two in a day at 4250g a piece (only other one on AH was up for 5000g). On my server Chaos Orbs are 40-50g each, and stacks of Embersilk Cloth are 70-75g. Considering Dreamcloth takes (if you use Chaos Orbs) 4 Orbs and 40 Cloth, you can buy the mats off the AH for 300-350g each per cloth and craft this item for 1800-2100g and double your gold. I made the two that I sold by purchasing the 48 Chaos Orbs for 1700g and farming the 480 Embersilk in about an hour in Tol Barad; effectively making a 7800g profit in an hour. I haven't done extensive research, but these seem to be the most profitable of the Dreamcloth recipes (at least of the ones that do not require Essences of Destruction). I'm going to be careful not to try to oversell these and will post one or two per week and see if they still sell.

Edit: They stopped selling, sold 3 and now am stuck with one that hasn't sold in nearly 2 weeks, even for like 2000g. These should be in moderate demand, however, they are good pants to begin raiding with as they allow for players to spend HP and VP on less expensive gear.
