Due to the sparsity of Hit Rating on BiS plate in Icecrown (A full BiS Unholy DK without gems has around 5.5% hit) these boots will likely beat Blood-Soaked Saronite Stompers as the best boots for plate DPS.

The only obvious downside to these is the lack of Armor Penetration. The reason this likely won't affect their ascent to BiS status (aside from the GS boost of probably being iLvl 284 in heroic :P) is because:

A: Classes/Specs that value ArP over Strength to cap are easily going to be able to maintain cap through gems.

B: The introduction of another heavy ArP trinket (Sharpened Twilight Scale) will more than make up for any lost ArP for those able to pick it up.

EDIT: At the time of this post the 284 version of the item wasn't released yet. Obviously the heroic version is BiS over these.

Holy *!@# the hit makes me sad. =( I'd much rather it have been haste or more ArP, because as a ret with Tiny Abom in a Jar hit is probably the last thing I need. But gg DK's? According to the guy above.

For DK's this boot can work with all three DPS specs due to the awsome sockets these bad boys have. Also you can change your ice walker enchant to AP and still have the hit and crit you desire. Also makes up for the shortfall in hitrating armour that DK's have with ICC/T10 parts.

Still great boots for Fury warriors who may be short of the hit cap or have items to replace the armor pen this does NOT have to maintain 100% while increasing rage-gen from the additional hit! Good boots!
