This is a melee weapon, it is more useful to melee classes than hunters, because this only provides stats for hunters, whereas this provides stats and melee damage for melees.

Recommended loot priorities should be:
Melee weapons - Melee classes > Hunters
Ranged weapons (except thrown) Hunters > Melee (warrior/rogue).

A very high TPS weapon for paladin tanks with nice stats sans the armor penetration--though I doubt any pally seeing this drop is having threat issues :P I believe it's the best we can do for pure threat before Troggbane becomes available.

I would not deprive a DPS of this main spec--however, I will be ninja-ing heroic Gutbuster for tanking if it drops in 10-man heroic and feel absolutely no remorse :P

Only thing that would make this piece of awesomeness even better, would be if they swapped the improved hit for critical strike rating.

Personally as a hunter this weapon is pretty badass because it's one of the few pieces with both hit AND some yummy arp. For arp stackers this is pretty nice, though i agree a melee class should get it first.

Besides being the best looking sword in the game (in my opinion), this sword is actually excellent for threat gen as a tank: Maintankadin Source

Not to mention that the vast amounts of hit rating will allow a tank to drop any threat gen stats (hit, exp, armsman on gloves) in favor of pure Effective Health (EH), and the agility will add dodge and armor.

Of course, and I have to say this for fear of being down-rated, if you're a tank desiring to roll on this beauty, be sure to pass it up to a melee DPS (or, God forbid, a Hunter) unless you're in sore need of extra threat generation. And, quite frankly, if you're that desperate for threat, you're probably doin' it wrong.

Don't let this item go to shard if you're a Warrior, DW DK (yes, it is viable), or Paladin with a 251 tanking weapon and are not hit capped without gemming or enchanting.

As this sword sheaths on your belt and not back I am a little disappointed. I currently wield the Frost Giant's Cleaver MH and the Scourgeborn Waraxe OH and they both sheath on my Rogues back for a nice "Titan's Grip" look. But as the the bloodvenom blade is BIS for Combat Rogues I will have to let my cool look go. :o(

dropped for me (frost dk) in 25 (d'oh), were 3 hunters, but they couldnt roll cause the loot rules are well understood on my realm, so I was the only person who could roll ( I rolled 3 btw):) DWing it with Gutbuster in OH.

I've run ICC every single week on 25N for this sword for the past 15 weeks and have never seen it drop. I'm beginning to believe it no longer exists.
