Honestly, I'd argue this is best in slot for a disc priest. When shields are a major part of your rotation and (so long as you're spec'ed properly) you get that bonus to spell casting your next spell right after a shield...I'd personally stack this thing with +20 haste gems. Doing that gives this sucker a +5.4% to haste just by itself. I've been starting to stack haste like it was going out of style, and I have to say that at my current 16.29% compared to the 9.3% I was before winning the staff (non-heroic)...I've noticed a marked improvement in my healing. I was shocked that just shaving off .1 seconds off those heals actually makes a noticeable difference. If you're worried about OOM, don't until you try it out (My test run was Ony 25, and it was awesome).

Definately something Disc priests should consider after they've gotten high enough crit and spell power.

This is much better than Cold Convergence, IMO. I'd take higher crit and an extra gem slot over an extra 17 Int.

I just got this on my mage last night (along with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=48708 for my hit set). To the OP, Rawr has me gemming http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40133 and 2 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40155, but thats as an arcane mage.) This staff is great and not exceedingly diffcult to get since heroic twins is not that much of leap in difficulty on 10. This staff is amazing for a lot of different casters classes, but has made me switch over from MH/OH as well.
