This is the Way Blizz shows their Love for (Feral) Druids!

* While this is by far the best Feral Tank Weapon in 3.1, raiding Ferals will have an hard Time or no Chance to reach this Weapon (2200 Rating). Compared to the best tanking Weapons in 3.0 Origins of Nightmares this Staff has +120 Agility and +42 Stamia and 2 Sockets.

* On the other Hand Feral PvP is more about Burst in 2v2 and does not so much rely on base Stats but PvE Weapons realy shine. In 3v3 or 5v5 Ferals are very rare because they have survability Problems that got even worse in 3.1 when most of their survability Talents got nerfed to work only in Kittyform. Their utility & CC is limited by their Basemana and the need to change Forms.

* Last but not Least Ulduar's "best" Feral Tanking Weapon Twisted Visage is hardly an Upgrade to Origins of Nightmares. But there is still Hope for an Drops from Hardmode Encounters.

And, once again, tanking druids will have to do large amounts of PvP to get their best-in-slot MITIGATION items (yes, getting PvP gear is faster than raiding for gear - but for those of us who prefer PvE, it still sucks). In 3.0, it was the PvP belt and gloves. Now, in 3.1, it looks like its the staff, chest, head, legs, shoulders, wrists, still the gloves, and the only thing better than the new PvP belt is what looks like a Yogg10 hard mode drop. Yes, some of the Ulduar loot hasn't had a chance to drop yet and isn't in the database, but most (if not all) of the upgrades will be from hard mode encounters that very few people will have a chance to complete.

SICK. Not.

Edit: PvP items are best at mitigation and stamina, not BiS, thats been made clear. However, I'm unsure how bears are ever going to have a problem holding 7k rogues. Its easy enough to over-aggro a warrior (same level gear) when you're not even getting hit by the boss (think rage problems), as well as holding dps that are pulling 3-4 times what you are.

Also: taunt the boss every 8 seconds before the rogue breaks the 110% mark? Easy enough...

Hello staff, meet agility!

Ps. I think theres a typo in the amount of agility on this, comparing the polearm and this you can see the stats are the same, except that the AP is directly converted in to agility, which obviously shouldnt happen. Unless blizzard REALLY likes to overbudget druid items.

The other weapons in this ilevel have 224 AP compared to the 224 Agility on this one. Agility is twice the item budget of raw attack power. Expect it to be halved, sadly :(

i dont see this beign nerfed by couple of reasons, 1 of them is that agility is like our main survivability now that all talents were nerfed to support cat form only, 100 extra agility will not make druids OP, cmon ppl, its been giving to us to compensate for agility loss on pvp items
i got 1400 agility in PVE gear in cat dps set, while PVP set only has 1088, see the difference?

The current Agility value (224) of this weapon is too high compared to its ilvl, and will be divided by 2 in patch 3.1.2 to 112 Agility.

Even with the agility halved to 112, this is still CLEARLY the best bear tanking weapon (although it will now be inferior for Kitties compared to Ulduar drops).

Competetive AGI to Ulduar drops (which range from 100 to 120), significant stamina improvement, comparable FAP benefits, comparable crit rating. PLUS it has two sockets, something the Ulduar options lack.

Cut the agi on the Furious staves in half. They still look like BIS bear weapons to me.

If you ask me, even after the nerf, some1 is complaining on underpowerity of this staff, IS TOTALLY OUT OF WAY!

- I am in +2k rate with 2k FAP weap, and in s5 1 guy on our realm got +2,4k with 1800 FAP weap... and even my current weap The Jawbone totally without pure AP or agility, threw me up to 2k yesterday.
Lol warrior weapon with strenght! but compare it to Furious greatstaff... maybe let's see.... about 600 more AP + 2sockets :D

-In pvp, I REALLY recommend this mix for trinketing/enchants for feral, can cause you SERIOUS AP buff time to time and makes u hit hard: Berserking+Anvil of Titans+Titan-forged Rune of Determination and rest of the stuff is pretty obvious. Bleeds @ pvp = win!

btw is Furious Gladiator's Halberd better than this staff in pvp? I mean it has double the non-FAP, but less agi? pls tell meh!

Dark Edge of Depravity compared to Furious Gladiator's Greatstaff (post-nerf):

-63 Stamina
+64 Hit
+85 Haste
+164 AP
-85 Resilence
-70 Crit rating

Dark Edge isn't in the database yet, and I don't know how to calculate Feral Attack Power, but it probably makes minimal difference here anyways. Dark Edge also doesn't have a socket bonus, but I'm sure one will be added soon. The lost stamina and crit hurts, but the hit, haste, and AP should make up for it in threat and mitigation thanks to Savage Defense.

I'm no expert theorycrafter, but these weapons obviously mirror each other as BiS for the different sides of endgame, PvP and PvE. (Edit: Probably only for PvE DPS, that is.)

There is probably an as-of-yet undiscovered stave from hard modes/Algalon that is BiS for tanking.
