Edit : ilvl 232 items have started appearing
Edit2 : ilvl 239 items have started appearing

Two things i wonder about this new badge are the following.
1. Will 2 pieces of 8.5 Be purchaseable with 60/75 Emblems of Conquest becauce lets face it, Every Pve'er and their pets are gonna want to get their hands on Tier 8 meaning a long time before a full raid has at least 1 piece of tier 8 each.
2. Will the Epic achievement be changed from ilvl 213 to ilvl 226 gear (which seems extremly unlikely considering a lot of people myself included have already completed the achievemnt) and if not will much of the gear from Ulduar10 be a slight upgrade to Naxx25/Malygos25

It has been confirmed that these emblems will be dropping from heroic ulduar, and that 10-man ulduar will be dropping the emblems of valor that are now present in all heroic raids.

What blizzard does is a bit strange....you can pay 35-40 emblems of conquest for deadly gladiators armor...which would take bout 3-4 clears of ulduar heroic or 20 clears of emalon in VoA...
yet you can easily get them in VoA from archavon for free(ok, at the cost of getting 25 people in your grp)
how is that reasonable?

Emblems of Conquest will now drop from any heroic and raid.
Read here:
http://www.wow.com/2009/06/18/patch-3-2-ptr-patch-notes/3#comments
Emblem System Changes
* Both the 10 and 25 player instances of the Crusaders' Coliseum drop a new Emblem of Triumph.
* Any dungeons that previously dropped Emblems of Heroism or Valor, such as Naxxramas or Heroic Halls of Stone, will now drop Emblems of Conquest instead. Emblems of Conquest can still be converted to Valor or Heroism.
* The Heroic dungeon daily quest will now reward 2 Emblems of Triumph and the normal daily dungeon quest will reward 1 Emblem of Triumph.
* The existing achievements to collect 1, 25, 50, etc. Emblems of Heroism, Valor, and Conquest have been converted to Feats of Strength since Heroism and Valor Emblems are no longer attainable.
* New achievements have been added to collect various amounts of any combination of emblems.

Honestly now, i guess that blizzard decided to drop conquest from preulduar content to speed up pre 3.2 content progressing for casuals, or semi-hc players, anyway people that are yet to down yogg'saron in 25 ulduar.. Why? So that there wouldn't be another situation at the end of expansion like in tbc where lesser raid guilds were still stuck at only being able to raid tier 4 content (kara, maggy, gruul). This change on letting casuals have emblems of tier 8.5 gear is merely to speed up the progress on getting from the entry naxxramas, or at whatever lesser content ppl are currently running, but the most high end, to the most up to date content (so the content they made wont go on waste and people will be able to experience more/most of what the game has to offer). Don't worry, oh mighty hardcore players of wow, you will still be able to raid stuff that more casual players can't and get your hands on much better gear, may i remind you just how/why/whatthehell? Hard modes my friend, hard modes. As casuals in their easy to obtain t8.5 gear will only be able to run 10-man version on normal of the 3.2 raid which name i can't remember, and the semi hc ppl will visit 25 normal on weekly basin, you are still going be the only type of players who will eventually go to not only to normal version of 25-man, but the hard mode as well, where no casual will ever set their foot and get their hands on the level of loot you will be wearing shortly.. I just am that darn indignant of the way that "hc scene" reacts to things like this change that i can't even clearly point out the reason i think is behing this and the other similar changes.
I did mention tbc, yeah, too many guilds were stuck on tier 4 level content (kara, maggy, gruul), even towards the end of the expansion just because they couldn't. You surely could say "l2p issue", no. Not all people had the time and detication that was required to get to t6 content and sunwell eventually, so they were stuck on farming the very entry level of content, and the fact that people got bored of that and left those kind of guilds for a better one was everything but helpful for those lesser guilds stuck at t4. Eventually the guilds tend to broke up and either left the players completely outside the endgame or forced them to spend more time with the game to get anywhere, it just sucked for everyone but the most deticated players. The same guild swapping is still going on, but thanks to 10-man and 25-man choises this happens on much lesser manner than in tbc. SO back to the present, this decision to let people have easy acces to better gear for way "too" easy is merely help people that couldn't progress to/thru the ulduar so that they would have a chance to explore the content and err have something interesting to do (raid), this is to let people experience the game in its whole gloriness. This is what i belive the reason behing the change is.
I hope this post will not get purged any soon, as i finally was able to put my toughts to words.. Somehow.. Maybe.. Feel free to reply and bring out YOUR opinion.

This is a change that will benefit much more people than however/whichever way hardcore players claim that it will hurt.
I think everyone will agree with me that most if not all raid guilds has a gear requirement, usually consisting of full t7 minimum. Most guilds, especially after WotLK, only look at your character sheet on armory to determine how good you are, rather than actual performance.
This is where the problem comes in for "hardcore" people. This silly practice in itself encourages people with less skill but better gear (through whatever means they got them, be it RMT, got ran through Ulduar because of connections to the guild officers) to be considered ahead of people with actual priorities in life, such as class, job, family, friends, etc. who can't spend that extra 2-6 hours a day to do more farming and raiding.
To the hardcore community, CPUzer0 alrdy made an excellent point that this will only increase your recruitment pool. More priests, more druids, more shamans, more paladins. It's hard to complain about that unless you are just plain bitter about something.
The argument of "this will devalue our time and effort spent to get those same gear initially, when they first came out" is not valid either. Nothing lasts. Having the twin glaives of Azzinoth now is mostly for the awesome look, especially if you are a gnome warrior (>.<). Remember tier 1-3 that the hardcore raiders worked so hard for? especially 3? Why not complain about how you can't use that in Ulduar? Remember when the expansion came out, and suddenly the mats market for TBC pots, gems crashed?
Heck, even your computer is not worth the same value if you sold it now than if you sold it right away when you bought it. Things come and go. So why not snap out of the old folks mentality, and adapt to the changing environment. After all, those who are truly skilled simply learn the mechanics of the new system and exploit it like they did the old.

These can purchase the following ilvl 226 raiding pieces:
Neckpiece (19)
Tier 8.25 headpiece (58).
Tier 8.25 chest piece (58)
Off-set legs (39).
Belt (28).
Off-set gloves (28)
Some notes, if you want to know where best to spend your emblems:
There are crafted belts that used Runed Orbs that are roughly equivalent.
There are some dropped BoE head, chest, neck, and leg pieces that are roughly equivalent to these, and may be obtained at the auction house. Here's a list:

Does anyone know about why they made Vendor Loot items worth a couple less than a digit of 5 like they traditionally do?
For example...
Belt of the Living Thicket
will sell for
28 Emblems
Breastplate of the Wayward Vanquisher
will sell for
58 Emblems
Frozen Tear of Elune
will sell for
19 Emblems
Why the non 5 digit numbers? It's not a Reputation discount...

I did some calculations about how fast one will be able to achive the full Deadly set when 3.2 hits.
49 Emblem of Conquest a day
is possible to get from heroics only. +
2
/day from the daily quest.
So
51
EoC each day.
You need
266
EoC to get the full deadly set.
If you do all the dailies it would take you about 6 days to get the full deadly set.
There are
12
heroic dungeons avaliable.
Avarege clear time is from my experience (should be correct if u have a good group)
quote]CoS = 25 mins
Oculus = 35
HoL = 35
UK = 30
HoS = 35
Gundrak = 25
VH = 25
DTK = 25
Old King. = 35
AN = 20
Nexus = 30
UP = 30
So it would take a solid group approx 6h (Only clearing time. Ofc traveling, breaks and members leaving/joining adds up the time).
6h x 6days = about 36 hours work/grind/farm to get a full Deadly Gladiator set :)
Not too shabby.

People, please remember that Wowheads is NOT a discussion forum, it's a (fantastic) reference source. Let's keep discussion on whether the 3.2 change is bad or not, or who wins and who loses, off here please.
All a Wowhead reader wants to know is:
1. where they drop (answer - since patch 3.2, they're boss drops from every L80 raid or heroic 5 man except for the Coliseum instances, which drop Emblem of Triumph)
2. what they can be used to buy (answer - see the "Currency for" tab, remembering of course that they can also be traded for Emblems of Heroism and Valor too, which have their own "Currency for" lists).

To Akisan:
Yes. The game has been dramatically changed to help out "the casual players".
I do not like this. And before you say I am a elitest, no. I am someone who wants get their gear the hard way. I want to know that some idiot who cant put together a string of words into a coherent sentence can't spam 3 buttons and suddenly be decked out in great gear. Yes, I'm all for making the game more approachable- but they took it too far.
My views:
Vanilla: Hard, few epics, respect to people who got them, long long grinds and quests. Time-consuming.
Tbc: Took basically everything in the game and made it take a little bit less time to achieve. My personal favorite time. Difficulty (Until the end when they took out attunements) was basically unchanged. (Notice: Shorter time getting to a fight doesn't make it easier!)
WotLK: Make the entire game considerably easier to approach a new market, shift focus from play-style to moneymaking/mass appeal. (Understandable). Nerfed/buffed classes with one idea in mind: Make roles obvious.
3.2: Instead of making the game easier to approach, they basically took the fun out of wow.
I shall explain.
You might say, "Making this easier/faster makes it more fun- and it rewards people who dont have the time."
Or in other words, "Giving the guy who works part time instead of full time deserves the same pay."
Still disagree? Well. I think by making it so much easier, its so much more boring. I miss the fact that, if you were a badass, everyone knew it. If you were a warlock, you were op. If you were a shaman, you were op. If you were a paladin, you would never. Ever. Die. (Ffs!)
People say there is a casual bracket, and a elitest bracket. This is true. But what about the people in between? WHat about the people who have some time, but maybe not all the skills? Or the other way around? Or someone who just enjoys a challenge, a goal to work to, accomplishment. WotLK is a joke. Catacylsm and 3.2 will make it even more ... bad. You might say "Oh, just do 25 man ulduar". I say no. I wait 3 weeks and you will get all that gear with a forum qq post a 30 badges a pop.
Honestly.
What happened to the spark?
What happened to the intense world pvp, the rush of a proper battleground, instead of random leveling fights, pug battlegroups, and arena team boring-ness? Honestly- some really, really nice gear is obtained by doing some really really easy instances.
Thats no fun.
I have so much more to explain, to complain, (yes, thats what im doing, and I know it!), and to nostalgize about. (is that a word?)
Perhaps I will play a 2.4.3 private server. Who knows?
Wow is a lot of fun. It still is, kind of. But the line must be drawn when my 5 year old sister can get a 1960 rating. As a warlock. Is the game really that easy? Is, because of that, people really that terrible? Both? I don't know. I know my wrist hurts and Im going to get flamed, but deep down inside all of you know for the most part its true.
World of warcraft, is just warcraft. No longer a epic world to go do epic things. (Before you say NERDD!111! I think its perfectly acceptable to get carried away a bit :] )

Since
Trial of the Champion
hit live, you can now get
53
Emblems of Conquest per day. 55 if you converted the 2 Emblems of Triumph from the heroic daily.
But it should be noted that, in the case of Horde, the Conquest Quartermaster doesn't sell Rings or Trinkets. The Valor vendor sell Rings but not Amulets, while the Heroism vendor sells Trinkets, Amulets, epic Gems and
Frozen Orb
's, but no Rings.
So for non-raiders, casual raiders or those still looking to gear up, there is still a demand for converting Conquest into lower level Emblems.
In the interest of PvE tanks, I've looked at the gear available with a Defense Rating from the 4 emblem vendors for Horde:
Magistrix Vesara
<Emblem of Triumph Quartermaster> iLevel 245
Blades of the Sable Cross
25
DK NOTE: Ranged weapon
Clutch of Fortification
35
Headplate of the Honorbound
75
Shoulderguards of Enduring Order
45
Magister Sarien
<Emblem of Conquest Quartermaster> iLevel 226
Gauntlets of the Royal Watch
28
Shard of the Crystal Forest
19
Shieldwarder Girdle
28
Wyrmguard Legplates
39
DK NOTE: Has Shield Block Rating
Magister Brasael
<Emblem of Valor Quartermaster> iLevel 213
Bracers of Dalaran's Parapets
60
Kyzoc's Ground Stompers
40
Platinum Mesh Cloak
25
Signet of the Impregnable Fortress
25
Magistrix Lambriesse
<Emblem of Heroism Quartermaster> iLevel 200
Chained Military Gorget
25
Crygil's Discarded Plate Panel
35
DK NOTE: Shield
Waistguard of Living Iron
40
Please note that all items from the non-Triumph vendors, except for the Bracers of Dalaran's Parapets, can be bought within one day of running heroics and doing the dungeon dailies. But that does not mean these items are necessarily better than boss drops within those heroic dungeons, especially in the case of TotC which drops iLevel 200 items on Normal and iLevel 219 items on Heroic.

Hey, I swear I have seen it posted before, but that it's not here kind of surprised me.
Anyway here it goes.
With downgrading of these you will be able to get full tier, but not of the same sort.
Tier 8,5 Head
Tier 8,5 Chest
Tier 7,5 Shoulders
Tier 7,5 Legs
Tier 7 gloves

For your information.
With
patch 3.3
(Icecrown Citadel content), all level 80 dungeons that currently drop
Emblem of Conquest
will drop
Emblem of Triumph
instead. The daily dungeon quests available in Dalaran will be removed.
The new
Emblem of Frost
will be rewarded for the first daily random-dungeon quest, weekly raid quests, certain bosses in the current WotLK raids, and the bosses in the new ICC raids.
While these changes will make Triumph the easy-to-farm badge, there will still be a need for Conquest and lower emblems due to the current vendor itemization.

Eindrachen
Just as a reminder, your Emblems of Conquest are
not
worthless in 3.3. They can still be downgraded all the way back to Emblems of Heroism for use in buying heirloom items for new alts, and for buying gems (either to cut for your new gear from the patch, or to sell for some extra gold here and there). The gem conversion alone can save a heck of a lot of gold when you upgrade stuff in the new instances. You can also just sell the gems for gold as a way to conver Conquest emblems into gold.

This is why the price of Runed Orbs has gone through the roof. With Conquest Emblems they were plentiful, now people have to trade down their triumph emblems to Conquests to buy Runed Orbs.

You can trade emblems 1:1 only downwards in the following hierarchy:
Emblem of Frost
Emblem of Triumph
Emblem of Conquest
Emblem of Valor
Emblem of Heroism
You get many emblems of triumph by running lots of random heroic WotLK dungeons daily. Don't convert them down except just enough to get a specific piece of gear. You can't convert them back up again.
