Drops from Flame Leviathan 10-man Hard mode version in case anyone was wondering. Red socket, while strange in aspect of using gems for throwing weapons, is an awesome idea for this one mainly because rogues and warriors can have it gemmed their way, with more agi or strength.

i see the only reason for gem slot is to make up for stats. Gems, and enchants are only there to boost, and tweak stats to how you play, which sorta makes sense. This thrown may be awsome to some, but if you add those small tiny Percents of stats, that can make an exponential difference ^_^

Is it just me or does it seem like Blizz doesn't want to design any new thrown weapons? Both the thrown weapons currently found in Ulduar have the exact same model and texture as the one in that drops in Heroic Naxxramas - Spinning Fate.

The stats on this are actually better for rogues than those on http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45327, first time Rogues can use throw weapon in pve without nerfing their stats compared to bows/guns!

This thrown drops from Flame Leviathan Hardmode on 10 man.
To clarify, it only counts as hardmode if you have all four towers active when you engage the boss.

Since 3.1.2, the Twirling Blades have been given an iLevel of 232, meaning increased stats. Taken into consideration the healthy buff, it is currently better than Rising Sun (which drops off of Flame Leviathan 25. w/o hard mode).

This is definitely better than Rising Sun, but I couldn't say the same compared to Siren's Cry when it comes to PvE.
Like all gear, it heavily depends on what stats you lack/need, but with hit capped rogues using Grim Toll or Blood of the Old God, Siren's Cry might be a bit better. The extra crit of the bow is really nice...and with Twirling Blades, the extra armor penetration is nice on the other hand. It really depends on your own gear.

this isn't the only throw weapon that has a socket in it if you don't remember the throw weapon from Sunwell (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34349) also has a socket in it and it's from Burning Crusade

This little thrown weapon is every PvP warrior's dream.

the hit, arpen, high AP + red socket is ridiculously good.
