At first glance, the secondary stats are less than impressive, but this can be a very nice weap for Fury warriors if they gear wisely around it.

The massive expertise on this weap will help make up for the expertise hole that losing Weapon Mastery will give us. It will free up quite a few spots on your gear that u can use on Crit rating, plus it hits harder than a train.

Dk tanks will also love this weapon for obvious reasons, especially Orc Dk's

So far. This is the best DK Tanking weapon so far. It's dps output is not as good as Voldrethar, Dark Blade of Oblivion. But the excess of Stam, Strength and especially the amount of Expertise. Just prove that it was made (but not limited to) for the DK tank.

This is BiS for an Orc Arms Warrior.

Sword Spec is useless, greatly diminishing Voldrethar's desirability off the bat.
Poleaxe Spec is awesome. With it, you get more crit than Voldrethar and of course +5% crit damage. The haste is a wasted stat, but because of the Orc racial, in the Arms tree, this one item Exerptise caps you! (you need 14 expertise now that Weapon Mastery has switched to Arms)

The str budget is less given the fact Voldrethar has 2 sockets, but the stamina on it also makes this a nice item to use in arena until you get your Tier 2 Weapon.

From a Warrior point of view...

Absolutely crap for Stats (apart from the Strength), Overall if we were to wear our Full T 8.5 and random parts we would be way over expertise cap (as ppl have mentioned) and have stats that are suffering heavily in Dimishing returns (Hit/haste) taking into consideration WF/Icey Talons/ Flurry.

If you are arms spec its likely you will be going for Polearms (Poleaxe spec)...so no badass looking weapons for you

Considering all 2H weapons arent designed purely for warriors maybe its a nice upgrade for some classes.

Additionally - as a TG Warrior I will be either hoping for the x2 Voldrethar's or depending on the difficutly of the encounter or the rarity of these weapons I maybe holding out hope that there is a 25 man version of the 2H Mace Ironsoul (with teh sexeh stats).

This was MADE for DK tanks. Has higher stam then any of the other 2hs in ulduar so far, the strength turns to about 30 parry rating on a DK,and has a crap-load of expertise on it.

Does Ignis have a hard mode? As this item is a 232 item it looks like a drop requiring special conditions. Or are some of the drops just higher ilvl in Ulduar without hard mode?

I'm pretty unimpressed with the 2H offerings for DPS.

We have a Tanking Axe and an agility Sword. The only good 2H is only attainable through a hardmode fight. There should have been a 2H we could get before Hard mode, I dont see any of these besides Voldrethar as a significant upgrade over Betrayer.

Plugging the current statweights in from EJ, for an Unholy DPS DK, Worldcarver is 2nd BiS by a reasonable lead over Earthshaper, but trailing by a fair margin itself behind Voldrethar.

The main reason for its strong value is the changes to haste, making it far more valuable to Unholy than pre-3.1, when considering pets into the equation. Haste is now a stronger stat than crit for Unholy.

As a Ret, I would pass this to our DK Tank in a heartbeat. Yes, this would be a great DPS boost for me (using the Jawbone), but I don't need more expertise. I need more STR/CRIT/ArP/AGI long before I would need expertise again.

There are polearms, maces, and swords that us Rets can use, but unless you are direly hurting for expertise, kindly pass this on to your favorite DK tank :)

It seems like the stamina is reduced to 136 on live now, where it now can be discussed if tis better then the invetiable defeat due to agility bonuses, and a very small stamina difference.

This has everything a DPS DK would want, aside from hit if you're not hit capped. Though haste is only a good stat depending on the spec. Regardless of that, strength, and expertise, and depending on spec, haste make it pretty much perfect for dps. Frankly the BoH was only BiS for DK's pre-3.1 due to sheer item level. Other than just having more stats to work with, it was pretty terribly itemized.

Since current thinking for Unholy DKs is that Tier 7 helm, shoulders, chest and gloves is worth keeping for the set bonus -- foregoing Tier 8 -- you will probably be woefully short of the DPS expertise cap in your normal mode gear. The only way you'll get anywhere near 26 expertise is if you're using this weapon.

This is also a brutal Ret Pally weapon to hold you over till Vold'rethar/Earthshaper.

Totally scooping one when it drops. If I learned anything from Kel, its don't count on final bosses dropping 2h.

I disagree. The loss of 80 agility (Which gives a hell of a lot more avoidance than 30 parry rating) from Inevitable Defeat makes this a minor upgrade at best. In fact, looking through the list of drops from Ulduar, I can't see more than one or two weapons at most I'd even consider taking over my ID.

I've acquired enough Uld25 gear that hit has become an excess baggage that I want to get rid of. As such, Earthshaper's gratuitous amount of hit goes to waste for me. Worldcarver, on the other hand, provides the much needed expertise for the cap. While one might argue that Earthshaper has a much higher damage range and slower speed and is thus a better weapon, you should always look at the big picture. There's a 47 damage difference between the two aforementioned weapons. What this translates to is about ~200 attack power equivalence in damage difference while only counting instant attacks. Since ~50% of my damage are instance attacks, Earthshaper has roughly a 100 attack power edge over Worldcarver. Now, since hit is trivialized and expertise valued in my case, Worldcarver could actually be a better choice under my assumptions.

All in all which weapon is better depends heavily on your current gear and most importantly the availability of said weapon. I say get whichever you can and build a gear set around the weapon.

87 Expertise will be amazing for DK Tanks because of our insanely high 60 EXPERTISE CAP which is more that double warriors 26 expertise cap.

Strength = Parry + AP for more Mitigation + Threat
Stamina = HP = Live longer
Haste = Very important for a DK tanks extra threat
Expertise = AMAZING because of our extra high cap

Im trying to get this with my guild atm because my goddamn Inevitable defeat wont drop from naxx so im going to just skip it and move straight to this thing, blowing all my DKP for the best DK tank wep in the game IS worth it lol

Yesterday I aquired this axe for no less than 500dkp.....thinking back I would have stayed using "The Jawbone" until I could get a hold of Aesir's Edge or Earth Shaper or anything simaler with a 3.6 speed.

There isn't any increase whatsoever in my strike damage. All of my strikes hit for about the same damage as they used to with "The Jawbone". Due in large part to how spammable attacks are affected positively by a slower weapon speed. My auto-attack damage might be higher, but even thats debateable and beside the point.

If you have the jawbone or death's bite, my recommendation is to hold on to it until another 3.6 speed weapon comes along (or you could just go for Ironsoul (3.5 speed) and be content knowing Worldcarver ain't all its cracked up to be).
I know i'll be quick to dispose of this 3.4 speed garbage axe as soon as patch 3.2 is out.

About the only thing I find good about this axe is it's looks.....But that isn't why I raid.

It's very difficult to say whether or not this is a good item because the values of stats change with each character. If you have more than 6.5% expertise, more expertise is literally worthless.

Personally, for my gear setup, I am using Aesir's edge and inevitable defeat. Therefore, this would be a perfect item with which to replace Inevitable Defeat. Unless you're close to getting BiS gear, this is probably one of the best weapons to fill your expertise requirements. So definitely do not be turned off by the crappy haste stat.

For fury warriors, there is an excellent spreadsheet on ElitistJerks which can tell you the values of each stat after getting info from your armory.
