If the current arrow situation holds up, Saronite Razorheads will be the highest DPS arrows in-game at release. So if engineers wanted the easy moneymaker, they've found it, because hunters will be ravenous over these. And hunters...make friends with an engineer real quick.

Don't get too excited though engies, I can't imagine they will retain their status for long. Enjoy it while it lasts.

These will be a GREAT money maker for Engineers. Hunters will go crazy over these and pay a high amount. They are very helpful in raids as well. Im always seeing myself run out of bullets/arrows so you can just carry some of these in your bag to get more arrows instead of hearthing to buy some more. Great job Bliz!

Currently these sell for about 100g on my server, which comes out to 10g per stack of arrows. Considering the mats cost from 100-120g, and the AH takes a cut, these are definitely not money makers.

Very few hunters want to pay 100g+ per five man run just to get a 21 dps increase.

if ur a miner its ok obviously, saronite is easy to come by.

i doubt hunters are going to buy these to use all the time if the vendor arrows are cheaper. Nor is that the idea of the item if you are a non engineer

They are just handy to have in ur backpack for raids if you do run out on the odd occasion.

In comparison with Terrorshaft Arrow, which is 30s/stack, and Timeless Arrow, which is 1g70s/stack at Honored (and obviously less if you are Revered/Exalted), the estimated cost of the Saronite Arrow Maker is approx 6g/200 arrows (According to Wowecon, which lists Saronite Ore at a median price of 2g per ore)

Personally, I fill up my quiver with the Terrorshaft Arrows in general, since they are a fraction of the cost. If its a challenging boss fight (haha) then I switch to the Saronite Razorheads. Thus far, I have only used them when going for achievements, such as Gotta Go! or 3 drake Sartharion, etc.

You can buy Saronite Bar at ah for 40g per stack - 15 pieces for 30g. 30g - 2000 arrows, 3g per stack. so much? why should I use flasks, elixirs, buy food at ah? you want to have top dps and don't want to pay for it. AWESOME!

Honestly, you guys are really complaining about having to pay more than other classes to max your dps? Really, Learn to play a real class. I have a 80 hunter as well and dont mind spending the extra for for this stuff. Then someone is complaining about feeding your pet. Come on, really? Food is dirt cheap and if you are still too cheap to buy your food, go hunt for it, you are called "hunters". I think having to pay a few extra gold to raid as a hunter is worth it. Hunters are by far the easiest class to play so I think it should be you have to pay more to get more dps. If you don't like it, you can always go play a different class. If you can't handle a hunter and think its a challenge, then you shouldn't be playing WoW which is by far the easiest MMO to date. Also, you aren't just paying the extra gold for the arrows, but a box which will save you about 10 slots. You can fill up your ammo bag and have a few boxes of these and be fine. Its like the potion injectors. 1 injector saves you 3 slots.

I see you all are moaning about the cost and so on, but few of you bother to suggest a solution, so I guess I will.
Making the arrows / bullets non consumable would be silly, unlimited ammo? No a better idea would be to take some inspiration from other places, why not just simply let us conjure it? Hunters need higher damage ammo then say a warrior and rogue would, why not let us conjure our own special ammo
A mage can make things like food, water, and mana gems, that's their ammo, make sense no?

To fill an entire 28 slot quiver with Saronite Arrrows you will need.

210 Saronite Bars (420 Saronite Ore).

This will craft 14 boxes. Each box contains 2000 arrows.

14 x 2000 = 28,000.

Actually a 21 DPS increase is quite significant when you are shooting 2000 arrows. That's an extra 42,000 damage on top of the 93,000 you would be doing. This would give you a grand total of 135,000 damage just from the arrow bonus. I think you might now realise the significance of this 'small' 21 DPS increase.

93,000 + 42,000 = 135,000

Wohoow, you might not realise that the 42'000 damage isnt even enough to kill one singe heroic mob.

The Ultrasafe Bullet Machine and Saronite Arrow Maker schematics have been simplified to create a full stack of the appropriate ammunition. No longer requires an anvil. Reduced the materials required to make this ammunition.

The dps increase of these over the Terrorshafts is actually very minimal, about 1.3% at best in a raid with full buffs. With the lower cost, they are now feasible to use in progression fights, but they are not needed any other time. I did all my Naxx raiding with the terrorshafts when the price was so much higher.
