After reading the comments on the Charmed Ancient Bone Bow, I noticed that it had a bug with Steady Shot doing damage using the level 1 damage from the bow...

Does the Hand Cannon have the same bug?

According to the latest PTR patch notes found on MMO-Champion, the Steady Shot bug is fixed.

Steady Shot: Now does correct damage with heirloom weapons.

The "Sold by" isn't right. Next to Knight Dameron is a npc called Travis Day (Legacy Weaponsmith) and he sells it too.

As of patch 3.2 (as stated by blizz's own PTR patch notes,

# Battleground experience has arrived!

* Players will now be awarded experience for completing objectives and actions that yield honor in Battlegrounds (honorable kills not included).
* Players who do not wish to gain experience through PvP can visit Behsten in Stormwind or Slahtz in Orgrimmar - both located near the Battlemasters in either city - and turn off all experience accumulation for the cost of 10 gold.
* Disabling experience gains will prevent a player from gaining experience through any means available in the game.
* Players with experience gains turned off who compete in Battlegrounds will face off only against other players with experience gains turned off.
* Behsten and Slahtz can reinstate experience gains for players, for a 10 gold fee of course. Any experience that would've been accumulated if experience gains were enabled cannot be recovered.

I rest my case. While what you said may have been correct at the time, it is now outdated.

I was able to attach Adamantite scope to this gun, any scope below that should work. Heartsekker Scope and Diamond-cut Refractor scope will not work because the target item is "too low" I'm still trying to figure out what scope is the highest supported scope for this BOA gun.

Tried this on a level 80 toon BTW so item "use" was not limited by level.

I'm being serious here. On the PTR site it shows this for a stat block

Ranged Gun
446 - 829 Damage Speed 2.90
(219.8 damage per second)
Requires level 1 to 80 (80)
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 152 (3.31% @ L80).
Equip: Improves your resilience rating by 67 (0.82% @ L80).
Equip: Increases attack power by 172.

Are these it's actual stats that it's being upgraded to, or is this a joke?

This is the top 19 twink gun. When compared to the ancient bow, the bow is 2.8 speed vs the 2.9 on the gun, equal dps otherwise. 2 ap more, 1 hit instead of 1 crit, but no 1 resil.

what makes the gun better is the fact you can get bullets that do 1 more dps.

slower speed also allows for more burst, more running time between shots, ext. making kiting easier. this is why the gun is better than venomstrike(which does a little more dps, but is .5 seconds faster) and the ancient bow.

As much as I loved the classic Dwarven Hand Cannon while leveling, I am a bit disappointed that it became the heirloom item. As the Charmed Ancient Bone Bow is the heirloom bow, I was hoping that the heirloom gun would be a much cooler looking gun, such as the Gurubashi Dwarf Destroyer from ZG or the Dragonbreath Hand Cannon from BWL.

Oh well. Maybe we'll get more heirlooms in Cataclysm. =P

EDIT: Why are you rating this down? Because I gave the opinion that there are better graphics for a heirloom gun? Because I linked perfectly good, cool looking examples? At the very least, reply to this with your opinion if you're going to downrate.

Love it, lvling SUPER fast with my dwarf can easly take out 6 mobs with no problem.

Any opinions on using this for PvE leveling a Hunter?

I know there is a PvE Bow, but as I would prefer to use a gun, I'm wondering how much it would slow me down to use this instead.

Ok, so since Stone Keeper Shards no longer exist, exactly how much do these things cost now? I'm assuming its Honor Points, but the listed price at the top of the page seems amazingly ridiculous, when you consider how little honor you actually get per bg now.

Noticing a bug. On my lv62 hunter, this gun is only giving +6 Agi. According to this site it should be +12 Agi(still poo for this level but 6 agi is 6 agi).

So either the gun is bugged in game, or this site has the wrong info.

As of 5.2, the Level 80 Heirloom weapons and armor can be upgraded to scale up to level 85

Cost is the original item and either Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets, JP (for heirlooms purchasable with JP) or Honor (for PvP itemized heirlooms purchased with honor)

1-H Weapons: 2175 Honor/JP or 110 Darkmoon Faire Tickets
2-H Weapons: 3500 Honor/JP or 130 Darkmoon Faire tickets
Armor: 2175 Honor/JP or 110 Darkmoon Faire tickets
Trinkets: 2725 Honor/JP or 130 Darkmoon Faire Tickets

Even though this gun is mostly meant for pvp, the gun works like a charm for Pve. I leveled with this baby and made it to 80 much faster due to its increased Dps and stats. You should be able to 1 hit everything up till level 4 I believe.

Here is another pair of (I think) better looking ranged weapons.
To replace the heirloom gun, Fury of the Raging Dragon.
To replace the heirloom bow, Bow of Bone and Sinew.
