This is also the closest to a mitigation glyph a pally tank can get. Expertise = you're parried less = you have to deal with fewer attacks (if a mob/player parries it speeds up their next melee attack). Not much, but it's all we've got...

This is a great glyph. It's just a shame there aren't any decent, fully-fledged mitigation glyphs to go with it...

Apartently Blizz is making Protection Specced paladins to be quite powerful, as this glyph decreases 2.50 % dodge, parry and bloc, along that combat expertise which adds 6 expertise, so prot paladins have atleast 16, which is 4% for each... sweet... also for PVP

Well this equates to 20 expertise rating which is only 2 less than the ring from M'uru (Ring of Hardened Resolve) and one less than the neckpiece from Badges of Justice (Brooch of Deftness). If you've got both of these like me, and the talents boost as well as the glyph, you get a total of 26 expertise, which is 52 rating, or there abouts, which is 6.5% DP Neglect. Expertise is kinda like armor ignore, but for mitigation rather than busting some <insert a class name>s.

When i first saw this glyph on the AH i almost shrugged it off thinking it was 10 expertise 'rating,' but when i read the tooltip again, i bought it immediately. 10 points of expertise from one glyph is quite a buff considering the room it gives you on the rest of your gear for stats other than expertise. imo, and clearly everyone above agrees, this is a must for prot pallies.

Paladin tanks make the least attacks at a boss that can be parried of all the tanks, so "less parry-instagib" is absolutely not a good reason to take expertise.

Secondly, by far the most threat generation of a paladin does not come from his melee attacks / seals. Choosing glyphs (or even talents) to increase the minimum threat that gets generated from your seals does not sound to smart.

And lastly, this glyph will do just about nothing when you are off-tanking.

All things considered, this glyph doesn't like a very good choice for your average tanking paladin.

this will be the glyph that all retribution paladins in PvE will change to instead of Seal of Blood

and yeah as a human with swords with this glyph you will now only need 11 expertise from gear alone
same with human/dwarf with maces

if you are a good pve ret paladin, you were using glyphs of consecration, judgement, and exorcism pre-3.2. of those three, the one you want to replace is glyph of exorcism. (not glyph of consecration, which yields a larger dps increase than any of the others.)

i'm basing this information off of what rawr 2.2.10 is telling me in "3.2 mode" with various ret paladin gear sets... speaking of which, there is a lot of expertise on currently available gear, so only use this glyph if you are around (or can regem to) 16-20 expertise, otherwise it will not be a dps increase over glyph of exorcism.

Very good glyph to get for a ret.

I have about 14-16 Expertise, 24-26 with this. It means i can reforge Expertise into more useful stats whilst being dodge immune.

A must have glyph for tanks 10 expertise granted while seal of Truth or Righteousness is active. Good thing Seal of truth is one of the best seal to use in a single enemy encounters (Boss) while the seal of righteousness is good for multiple enemy encounters.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed again. The older comments most likely refer to the previous incarnations of this glyph.

MoP: Glyph of Immediate Truth - Increases the instant damage done by Seal of Truth by 30%, but decreases the damage done by Censure by 50%.

Cata: Glyph of Seal of Truth - Your Seal of Truth and Seal of Righteousness also grant 10 expertise while active.

Prior to 4.0.1 this glyph was Glyph of Seal of Vengeance - Your Seal of Vengeance or Seal of Corruption also grants 10 expertise while active.

Over 1 minute, you would have 209450 * 4 = 837800 damage from Censure and
3129 * 38 = 118902 damage from Seal hits, totaling 956,702 damage.

With glyph:
Over 1 minute, you would have 104725 * 4 = 418900 damage from Censure and
3800 * 38 = 144400 damage from Seal hits, totaling 563,300 damage.

This is over a 50% loss in damage.
