Throwing this coin back into the fountain gives you a two-minute luck buff, which will increase your chances of fishing up more coins.

Oddly, during this time, I fished up a fountain goldfish, and it informed me "You can't loot this item right now". So I guess when you get the buff, you can ONLY loot coins?

If you 'use' the gold coins from the fountain (throw it back in), you get a buff which makes you lucky for 2 mins. While you are lucky you get to fish up more coins. This helps for the achievement and you still get credit for the gold coin even tho it's no longer in your inventory.

Why would one wish for a frozen scone? A scone is a type of pastry, wouldn't that make it rather hard to eat?

Perhaps if he had wished for a nice warm scone like a normal person he would not have mispronounced his wish and ended up as the Lich King.

So this is why! This is the reason for everithing! All of the events in warcraft 3 and WoW related to the frozen throne were becaiuse of this! Cause the other wishes were granted too. Oh i'm so going there!, maybe that way i can get my flying mount!

Btw, when u throw it to the fountain, shouldn't it grant the wish to u?

This is the coin that I needed. I had been trying to get it off and on for about 4 years now. I finally got it today. I came here to see if the drop rate showed up lower for this coin than the others, (it doesn't). The drop rate is about 1 out of 500 for the gold coins, sometimes the statistics just aren't with you. I have cast over 3000 times in this fountain and by my estimate I have fished up all the other gold coins twice and the silver and copper 10 times.

I have found though, that if you throw the gold back in the fountain you do increase your chances considerably.
