This is created by destroying low level herbs. Similar to the Jewelcrafting's prospecting Pomace comes from using the Inscription spell "Milling" on herbs, destroying 5 and producing 1-3 Pomace and sometimes a random edible mushroom.

So far I've found the following herbs will produce Alabaster pomace:

Peacebloom
Silverleaf
Earthroot
Mageroyal

In beta build 8885, every time I milled for alabaster pigment I got either two or three. So one stack of herbs will get you 8-12 alabaster pigment.

As a clarification, do you have to mill one of each of the herbs listed or just 5 of any one type? I've been collecting stacks of all of them in preparation because it had looked like you needed one of each every time you milled them. Reading through the comments now, however, it looks more like it's just five of any one type.

Text has changed in beta build 8982:

"Commonly obtained when milling Peacebloom, Silverleaf, and Earthroot."

So Alabaster Pigment lost Mageroyal, and Dusky/Verdant Pigment gained it. Bloodthistle was also removed. For those stockpiling herbs to power level inscription when the 3.0 patch hits in October, this may have a small impact on what you save up.

Alabaster Pigment is discovered by milling through lvl 1-10 herbs. You will receive 2-3 pigments for every 5 herbs. It takes about 60 Pigment (6-7 stacks of herbs) to level your inscription from 1-75. I got this inscription information here - http://almostgaming.com/wowguides/wow-inscription-guide

I did milling % during the PTR- these arn't from live, but may help when choosing which flowers to mill.

Peacebloom (AP)
41x2 (proc) = 82
37x3 (proc) = 111
78 - 19.5 total stacks (full 20 stack)
Average number of AP Proc: 2.5
So 193 total AP proc from 19.5 stacks, divided by 78 = 2.5, rounded up to the nearest 1

Silverleaf (AP)
30x2
18x3
12 stacks
Average number of AP proc: 2.3

Earthroot (AP)
11x2
18x3
12 stacks
average number of AP proc: 3.1

No Inscription item made from 象牙墨水 gives skill past 45, so even though you're tempted to make 20+ of Ivory Ink to level inscription, don't.

Use this to make 月色墨水 which at least can be used for .

You want to farm for this?
Even if you are already in Elwyn Forest, go to Darkshore by the portal in the SW docks, talk to Zidormi to get you back to pre-BFA time, then fly to Teldrassil. You can still farm for this in Elwyn Forest, but trust me, you want to do it in Teldrassil.
I dont think any Horde area is as good as Teldrassil either.
