I am totally confused with this helm....

This boss drop a plate spell power helm as well. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37182

Compared with the plate helm, this leather one has

-1 stam
+18 int
+15 crit
+21 spell power

and
armor: -1317 (who cares if for pve)
socket: -1 red, +1 yellow (not a real loss)

It is totally overbudget. It seems all other item level 200 rare helm has much lower stats than this one.

I'm glad I read these posts before I got rid of http://www.wowhead.com/?item=39240. I picked them up in Naxx, enchanted and gemmed them, decided to stick with the blue though because of the crit and the superior Int. Luckily I haven't gotten rid of Noth's Curse, so I'll be putting it on as soon as the patch comes out. I always liked the spirit anyway.

This helm was nerfed in 3.0.8:
Was 70 intellect, now 54.
Was 77 critical strike rating, now 45.

From a pally's PoV, this helm is still better then Helmet of the Constructor. More SP even if you socket HotC with a +19SP, more int and a yellow gem where you can throw in a +16int. The int should bridge the crit gap between the helms to a minuscule amount.
