Well noone has mentioned anything about it yet, but i have to say: I, as a Hunter / Jewelcrafter, am vastly dissapointed by the subpar proc on this trinket. If you take a look at the caster and tanking options for example, they will most likely become very viable trinkets.
While it could be "fun" having a boar summon, How does it compare to a +150 spell damage proc,? say, for raid situations? and may i ask... How many of you will actually craft this trinket?
They should separate the boar and make another fun item for that, and say give this trinket a +300 ArP proc.

it is weak compared to the because it only has 990 hp one shatter combo kills it. I'm a rogue and i'm going to test it out a little more but so far i don't think it is worth it, maybe if it had some extra stats on it it would be or if the boar had a 2 or 3 second crowd control ability.

to me this looks awfull , sure the 108 ap is great, but the korium boar ? 35 dps ? actualy about who has the mats to craft that trinket for 35 dps ? personnaly id rather take ma badges and buy myself 2 red epic gems and make em 20 aps instead of wasting 2 epic gems for 35 dps for 30 secs with a 5 min cd, even an extra 40 ap would be better then that at a long term , alot better id say

For hunters/everyone else considering using these: I got the two +AP JC trinkets today and can confirm:

1) both trinkets give a temporary pet when used (not when equipped, though), however, the pets will NOT make your pet disappear.
2) you CAN activate both trinkets on top of each other
3) The boar will not disappear when you mount (not sure about the panther, he disappears too fast to care anyway)

Tested damage on those servants before the dark portal, didn't get all damage, combat log scrolled before I could:
bold = crit
64, 78, 67, 77, 66, 68, 125, 80, 73, 65, 64, 80, 71

Speed is about 2.5 - 3 sec, don't know for sure.
Assuming crit is 200% dmg: 915.5 / 13 = 70.4 average damage (23.4 - 28.16 DPS for the duration it's active (not including cooldown otherwise it would seem incredibly low))
The damage he deals is physical, so it will most likely be lowered by armor/blocking and might just miss completely.

Edit: Tested his defense - took him to the level 60 elites in HFP and flew over them for him to aggro:
122, 110, 115, 76 (51 blocked) - at which point he died.

He's a level 70 guardian, for those wondering.

This and the Shadow Panther http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35702 figurine makes for some ungodly AP imo. 164 equipped, not to mention the use on the panther....

Use this on BGs for the extra punch against all those PvPers in Venge/Brutal gear lol.

And, geez, I'm a hunter, so if this works in the arena, that's the boar, my lion and some hellacious AP. Why not!

or just get panther + berserkers call for 170ap, and 360/320 on use... though they dont stack ( of what i know ) but, you can have 300+ap for around 30 sec, that's nice, and if you are rogue you probebly will get a mongoose procc under that time, adding alot of ap :)

There are a couple things that people may not know about the Use on this trinket. It can take a hunter's trap for you. It has also, many times, pulled rogues outta stealth. Besides the base AP bonus, this trinket can be very useful in arenas.

Also, both Boar trinket pets can be out at the same time.

if we assume lolzwut data is accurate this trinkets use effect adds about 3/4 dps if you use it everytime its up for its full duration

As a hunter pop both panther and boar before a Feign Death an maybe even pop a Snake Trap and it'll be impossible for an enemy to tab target back to you. That alone would make these useful, not to mention the pushback to spell casts.

also....anyone know if there putting in a new version of the panther? i would love to see one with 90+passive ap and 2 sockets for me to put my 54 ap dragon's eye in XD thatd be an assload of passive ap and then an activated effect for god knows how much more....o0o0o. yess... 0.o

also. the +1 stealth lvl MAY help hunters camo after wotlk...so keep that in mind 2

As of the recent upgrades, the Khorium Boar is now semi-invisible, complete with WHOOOM stealth sound effect upon summoning.
