This is a pretty solid trinket overall. If you consider that it's on-use duration is double that of the Moroes' piece, it becomes quite an interesting comparison.

Pally tanks can pair this with Crimson Serpent for a sweet JC-only trinket pairing. Warriors can as well, given the high stamina, but Pallies will also benefit from the additional mana and spell damage.

This is also a nice upgrade over the Scarab of Displacement. Same amount of defense on equip, but more avoidance (8.3712% on the Scarab vs 8.72% on the figurine) on use.

Finally, a good reason to be a tank and a JC!

I will probably use this as a feral druid as it will keep me uncritable without having to use any defense/resi gems at all, so I can focus on stam and agility in my sockets.

Currently I use the Dawnstone Crab which is a similar item, when wearing my T4 hat (which is enchanted for DPS) to stay uncritable.

It seems like Blizzard makes crafted items ridiculously hard to make. I dont understand why they dont give people who work towards crafting items like this alteratives to making the good items. We put forth the effort too, why must it all rely on the ability to 25 man instances?

this thing is just perfect for a druid tank once there moving onto SSC and TK because of the lack of defence on leather items.. this is one of few trinkets that have defence on them and im definatly going to be lvl JC up just to get this item. it fills a huge gap of defence meaning that i can drop my pvp belt for something else. and the dodge rating when you need is like an added bonus

For those of you that are not as familiar with the JC BoP trinkets like this one, on use you will summon a "companion."

For this trinket you get a nice blue turtle (like the turtle mobs not like speedy pet turtle in design). Which is kind of handy visual aide for knowing you clicked your trinket if its tied into a macro or something other than the drag-n-drop icon.

As a JC myself, I considered this to be a "new badge trinket" when the new gem vendor for shattered sun came out, as I used my 30 Badges to Buy the two epic gems.

That makes this a really awesome tanking trinket for a lesser progressed raid tank, that you probably won't need to upgrade right away!

Great for multiple mob tanking situations where you need to build threat on 4-5 mobs without your healer pulling aggro. The extra 8.72% dodge for 20 seconds will translate to fairly substantial amount of healer threat removed from the equation, since a dodged attack = no healing. If you're tanking 4-5 melee mobs in a heroic, a few dodged attacks could be the difference between you holding the mobs in the first 5-10 seconds of the pull and your healer pulling aggro.

yeah definitely for feral druids, that way you dont have to waste all of your sockets and enchants on defense. pretty much use this trinket, enchant your chest piece with defense, use a few stamina/defense gems, then load up on agi and stam for super druid powers!

This is a really great to stack your defense for resist sets. Typically your resists sets do not have any defense. I found this trinket a really good way to get the def. cap when wearing your resist sets.

When 3.0.2 came out, a lot of tanks got screwed with the removal of Defense talents and the reduction of defense on tanking gear to add strength. Tanks who'd socketed their gear straight stam now found themselves below defense cap by a fairly significant margin, often having to either regem or switch to downgraded gear from Kara that has higher defense than ZA level items. However, this trinket makes up a huge chunk of that missing defense... if you're a tank and a JC, it might be all you need to get back over cap. I know it brought me from 476 with Moroes' Pocket Watch to a healthy and safe 494. So good luck with the patch's regearing, and don't fret if you rolled JC, a solution provides itself to you.
