Lets compared them with Studious Wraps:

In patch 2.4 all heroic gems will not be unique equiped.

If u socket Studious Wraps with a Potent Fire Opal (epic gem that drops from heroic Auchenai Crypts) +6 spell damage and +4 spell critical rating and with a Glowing Tanzanite (epic gem that drops in heoic Black Morass) +6 spell damage and +6 stamina u get :

27 stamina
22 intellect
29 Spell critical strike rating
54 Bonus spell damage.(with the socket bonus as well)

If u socket the Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips with a Potent Fire Opal as well u get:

33 Stamina
27 Intellect
34 Spell critical strike rating
54 Bonus spell damage.

Comparing the 2 items.....u only get :

+6 stamina
+5 intelect
+5 Spell critical strike rating
same spell damage
Assuming that u socketed with the mentioned gems...i used the same same gem (Potent Fire Opal) to keep things simple,u could either socket the blue socket of the Studious Wraps with a Radiant Chrysoprase (epic gem that drops in heroic Underbog) +5 spell critical strike rating and +5 spell penetration u would loose the 6 spell damage and gain 5 spell crit.

So the Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips arent so much of an upgrade and definatelly not worth spending 75 badges ...but its everione's decision :)

they are abit better so if u dont have studious one those might be worthy of 15 extra bagdes.
but if u already got studious wraps its waste of time and effort.

I did some theorycrafting, comparing Studious Wraps with these gloves. Here is what I found. I am a Warlock, by the way.

Studious Wraps w/ Veiled Noble Topaz & Glowing Nightseye (gets socket bonus)

27 Stamina
22 Intellect
25 Spell crit
54 Spell damage
4 Spell hit

Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips w/Veiled Noble Topaz (gets socket bonus)

33 Stamina
27 Intellect
30 Spell crit
53 Spell damage
4 Spell Hit

Now the difference between these items is 15 Badges. With those 15 Badges you get this:

+5 Stamina
+5 Intellect
+5 Spell Crit
-1 Spell damage

That is definitely and upgrade, but It is up to each person to decide if that is worth it. Personally, I'm hoarding badges to pick up some nice upgrades next patch, and I'd rather put those 15 badges towards some new legs, weapon, or ring.

Most will agree - these gloves are very nice. They might not be worth using if it costs you a good set bonus (eg. spellfire set), but thats kinda besides the point - and kinda irrellevant.

BUT what some most of you might have missed - theres a cheaper way to get a glove upgrade with the 2.4 patch - without spending the 75badges!

Gloves of Arcane Acuity are obtained via an easy normal run of Magister's Terrace, a run that will also give you a free Runed Crimson Spinel (from a quest inside the instance).

So, lets say you get Gloves of Arcane Acuity and socket it with a Runed Crimson Spinel and a Glowing Nightseye. You will then have:

Gloves of Arcane Acuity
116 Armor
+22 Stamina
+20 Intellect
Equip: Improves spell hit rating by 18 (1.43% @ L70).
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 56.

Compare that to Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips socketed with a Veiled Noble Topaz (seems like the obvious choice) and you have:

Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips
148 Armor
+33 Stamina
+27 Intellect
Equip: Improves spell critical strike rating by 30 (1.36% @ L70).
Equip: Improves spell hit rating by 4 (0.32% @ L70).
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 53.

To sum up this wall of text - this is what you get if you pick Gloves of Arcane Acuity
instead of Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips:

-11 stamina
-7 intellect
-1.36% spell crit
+1.21% spell hit

Choosing between these and Studious wraps.
I'd socket these with 9 dmg, and Studious with 9 dmg and 6stam/5dmg

I'm in favour of Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips:
+6 stam, 5 Int, 5 Crit, -3 Dmg.
As I'm lacking in Stam, I'll suffer the loss of 3 damage for increased stam, crit and mana pool.
For 15 badges more.

Of course, this is mostly irrelevant if you aren't hit capped.

As Shadow Priest:

Compared with Handguards of Absolution, Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips are... obtainable with 75 badges of justice, whereas tier 6 is not.

Otherwise, assuming that we know spell crit does increase our DPS compared to frivolous spell hit well beyond the cap and that spell haste becomes more valuable per point as spell damage approaches 1400, socketing these with a Reckless Pyrestone actually gives more "pseudodamage" with the socket bonus than a Runed Crimson Spinel would. If you're at 1300 damage or so and are a Shadowpriest, these gloves would be comparable with t6 gloves.

Studious Wraps have more damage, of course, just because of the extra socket, but do you know what these gloves have? That's right: matching style with the other badge gear.

You can also think of it this way. If your shelling out badges for epic gems, getting this and socketing it costs 90 badges. Its the same for the Studious Wraps
