The only time I would allow a warrior to roll on this over a rogue is if the rogue already has it. Warriors can make use of this dagger. Once a boss drops below 20%, a smart warrior will carry around the fastest weapons he can find to execute spam. I say this because an execute that uses more than 15 rage is wasted rage. With two fast weapons to swap to, rage will be generated in a constant stream instead of a bunch of spikes. This allows for constant executes at the 15 rage limit.

The haste on this dagger is nice for BM Hunters. Swapping this with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28768, even without the +20agil enchant still increases my Ranged DPS by 0.3, becuz of the haste (increased my attack speed from 2.25 to 2.22, with the Gladiator's Crossbow). Can't wait to slap a +20 agil enchant on this dagger.

I'm curious what people think of using this for PvP paired with the main hand badge fist for a hemo+shadowstep nondagger build. I'm currently using quickening blade of the prince but I'm thinking maybe the haste might be worth more than the armor pen, plus the 1.3 vs 1.5 speed means I have to shiv less to keep crippling up and I won't waste quite as many hemo debuffs.

Rage generation formula copied from a "Blue" post on the WoW forums:

Here are the current rage generation formulae (note: these are slightly different than the ones which are on the current public test realms).

The notable changes include an update to offhand rage generation (previously it was not being normalized correctly), and an improvement to rage generation from crits (essentially, crits now generate double the rage the hit would have ordinarily caused). The later change should help ensure that certain specs (ie: sword specialization) don't become clearly superior to crit-enhancing specializations like Axe/Polearm.

For Dealing Damage:
Main Hand Normal Hits: Factor=2.5
Main Hand Crits: Factor=5.0
Off Hand Normal Hits: Factor=1.25
Off Hand Crits: Factor=2.5

Rage Conversion Value (note: this number is derived from other values within the game such as a mob's hit points and a warrior's expected damage value against that mob):

Rage Conversion at level 60: 230.6
Rage Conversion at level 70: 274.7

Expansion Rage Gained from dealing damage = ((Damage Dealt) / (Rage Conversion at Your Level) * 7.5 + (Weapon Speed * Factor))/2

Pre-Expansion Rage Gained from dealing damage = (Damage Dealt) / (Rage Conversion at Your Level) * 7.5

For Taking Damage (both pre and post expansion):
Rage Gained = (Damage Taken) / (Rage Conversion at Your Level) * 2.5

On a side note I found myself here while looking up haste items for my newest pet project character, the last class I have yet to play at 70. (currently lvl69 hunter) The easiest and possibly only haste items available to a new 70 come from MGT. Counting 3 drops from regular and a pair of these daggers the total haste available is 90 which would bring a 2.8speed ranged weapon like say the badge xbow to a more suitable 1.91speed 1.66 with imp AotH active.

You would use:
Flurry (+30% haste on crit)
Berserking (+10-30% haste)
Bloodthirst (+30% haste)
Haste Potion (+400 haste rating)

For a grand total of 1717 potential haste rating and 64-94% AS increase, and 492 passive haste (putting swing speed at .99 base).

At best your attack speed will hit around .32, but you'd have to be a troll warrior with access to every piece of gear in the game to even try it. Because of the Azzinoth proc, the dagger is .003 AS slower than the offhand in the Warglaive set, but the mainhand in the set is .27 AS slower than the dagger.

Obviously not something you'd probably see done, but possible.

This weapon is now favorable for Mutilate users due to the increased Nature damage from poisons. Faster daggers are doing higher DPS than slow ones over longer fights (more poison procs, more crits which yields more energy returns from Focused Attacks). This dagger is quite easy to obtain and scores near top on the list of the most attractive weapons post-patch. Get two!

For any assassination rogue twink, this is the best in slot offhand weapon. The extra deadly poison procs make up for the loss in dps over higher item level but slower weapons.
