The whole discussion in this item is about if it's an upgrade of http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32248 or not, for hunters. Guys, guys, it has stats and all but other classes can also use it. Not much of a big upgrade for hunters? Don't worry, us warriors and retadins will appreciate the damage boost on it.

The badgebow (Crossbow of relentless Strikes) that every BM hunter worth his/her salt will be using up to the legendary requires about this much haste rating to end up at "wolfslayer speed".

Having all the haste on one weapon is a nice option as it frees up more slots for set items and thus boni like the very powerful 4-set tier 6 bonus.

A bit better and 150 badges cheaper than the 53 haste rating badge axe that will complement the badgebow for most hunters.

For a blood elf pally you're looking at the second best dps weapon in the game. Depending on your gear it is only JUST behind Apolyon the soul renderer in dps. Huge weapon upgrade. (with good bt hyjal gear its about a 41dps upgrade on Cataclysms edge)

(590 + 393) / 2 = 491.5

With the 3.36% Haste, the swing speed is down to 3.3824 seconds so this gives us a new DPS of:
491.5 / 3.3824 = 145.311022

This appears to be the best weapon for a hunter after you've gotten http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33492 .
With the added agility, it can't be matched for a SV hunter, and with the HAEP equation, it ends up being the best overall weapon in the game for a hunter.

You lose a lot of stamina from Trollbane, however the increase in Agility is well worth it. If you put +8 Agi gems in Trollbane and this, you end up with:

+6 Agi
+42 RAP
-58 Stam (but at this level, stamina shouldn't be a concern for a PvE hunter).

I can't find another item in the game that can beat Trollbane for Agility and Attack Power. I'd rate this as the #1 hunter weapon in the game.

Edit: I forgot to mention Haste. This has haste, while Trollbane has none. So long as you don't clip your auto shots, this is still one of the best hunter weapons in the game.

If you consider that in the next patch the delay needed for autoshot to shoot after a steady shot will be 0.015 second instead of 0.5 second so this weapon would be one of the best for hunters in the next patch since you will want to stack haste as a hunter. Furthmore, this makes a pretty good retadin weapon, as the weapon is fed up with bunch of agility for crit and haste.

One of the best weapon in the game in my opinion. Easy to farm somehow if you do the second sunwell pull over and over again.

Just got this on my belf pala, I love it!. Got about 160 haste and working on boosting it even further. A bit high weap speed but still #2 best belf weap in the game.

BEST WEAPON TH FOR HUNTER it gives 52 aggi wich is good dodge atk power and crit. I t givest and heavy attack power and good haste rating-with the socket you can add 7 agi 5 sta and its orange socket so you take the socket bonus

if you get this and a bow with 3.00 speed, as bm hunter you will have 2.09 speed wich is best for 3:2 rotation :)

When I look at this weapon. I see a cool name, a decent amount of agility and attack power. What I don't see is all these mathematical thingies you talk about. To be honest, I find those mathematical operations, quite unnecessary.

retri palas can make good use of this
this weapon is really good
but http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34247 is harder to get....much harder
so Shivering Felspine FTW for any dps class
I would rather give it to warrior/retri pala then hunter

I have a question would this be better for a blood elf retadin or a hunter?
The reason i ask this now is because i was farming sunwell trash last night and this happened to drop i was using gorehowl with a crusader enchant on it and my GM told hunters to roll he wouldn't even let me roll on the item.
I don't like to take my personal grievinces about my guild here but i find it bull $%^& what happened and this will make me hate the hunter class.
The hunter was using a Vengeful Gladiators Waraxe(you know the hunter one),and i still wasn't allowed to roll on the item.
Well anyway besides my problem with my GM ill talk to him later what do you all think this weapon would be better for?

... Sunwell Plateau is a T6 raid instance, and most if not all (Kaz'rogal, Azgalor, Supremus, Shade of Akama are fights that may involve some random damage that may be done to you.).
58 stam = 580 HP, which is alot!
By you stating that stamina isn't a stat a PvE hunter should be concerned about, I sincerely doubt you have done any.
So please do check your facts before posting something.

Well... i`m not kidding but... i used this weapon as a dps warrior on my server and i was one of the better dps`s back there (except for vip etc.) it's a really good weapon, only lose to apolyon( on a TBC esxpansion of course).

Should this drop, treasure it always, for it is the only model of its kind, and whilst the 野蠻鬥士痛苦之鋸 might be of the same shape, it lacks the Felspine's sheer magnificence.

First run drop! I will definitely transmog on to a weapon at some point. Current using a Sonic Spear transmog. Another awesome polearm.

Low drop rate aside, it's an excellent transmog pursuit in that you can bulldoze your way through all the mobs and stop BEFORE you get to Kalecgos the blue sleeping dragon boss. Leave the instance, reset it and go again.

Important Note: Make sure to target the Sunblade Slayer's first and there are (2) in the first two groups and (1) a little further in, all on the ground floor. They do damage adjustable to your level and will take you out in seconds. After you pick your way through those guys (if you're equipped well enough) you can ride your mount through the rest. Get into a corner where the casters have to get in close and then nuke the lot of them. Take it easy the first couple times, then once you know your limit group them up at a comfortable pace. Five runs of this and your bags will be packed with $$$. And good luck one of them is this sweet polearm.

EDIT: It seems a change has been made in loot drops in raids recently; I ran this instance five times and the mobs barely drop anything in the way of cloth, greens and vendor trash. Someone commented it was Blizz's way of dealing with "bots". Don't know how this will effect epic drops.

Gorgeous piece of weaponry- I don't care what anyone says about Blood Elves, you just can't question their style.

I was super disappointed to see it was bind-on-pickup when I got this on my Pandaren rogue. I checked it out in the previewer without noticing that, and immediately wanted to send it to my Blood Elf.. Unfortunately he'll have to go without it until I can bump up his level enough to go try and farm that from the Sunwell.

What a letdown though, to be all excited about sending it and getting the "you can't trade soulbound items" message.

I can confirm, this piece of art still drops. I guess I was lucky, because it took only about 8-10 runs to get it. Just kill all trash till first boss, exit instance and reset all instances and repeat :)

It just looks splendid on my belf survival hunter, I am glad that they turned survival hunters to melee class, but that is just my personal opinion.

As of 1/13/19 8.2.5 I can confirm this still drops! Got mine just under 20 runs on my Belf Pally. This is by far one of the best looking two handed xmog for the Belf Heritage Set, I would say maybe from Kael is close tie...Pro tip: When farming this you want to kill all the trash before the frist boss and then reset, obvs dont kill the boss...try mounting and grab everything, if you lucky you can grab it all and run to the "end" area near the first boss, kill your clumped up mobs and run and reset!. Be patient, I saw almost all the other trash loot table drop 3 times before I saw this!

My Belf Pally got it after 8 runs on 10/22/2024 from the Sunblade Protector that's right before Kalecgos after getting 2 of the Mounting Vengeance fist weapon and 1 Wand of Cleansing Light. All I did was pull all the trash before the first boss, kill them, loot, walk out, and reset instance. Be sure to have enough space in your bags because you will be getting a lot of junk and green BoEs.
