Guess I'm missing something then.

Hauberk has 90 AP, + 25 from AGI for 115 AP.

Shadowprowler has 32STR * 2.4 =76
44AGI 44
for 120 AP not considering gems. Shadow beats hauberk on armor, but looses on STA and hit bonus.

Primalstrike has 108 + 38 AGI for 146 AP. Primalstrike has better hit bonus, armor, and stamina bonus.

Am I not factoring something correctly?

Ok, I know this is a noob question, but is this better than assassination tunic for rogues? My guild can clear karazahn except for nightbane/netherspite so I dont have access to any epic chests. I have lots of money and am currently using assassination tunic as a rogue. Would this be even a slight upgrade?

With the following gems kitty druids get these stats:
Red - Bold Living Ruby - 8 Str
Yellow - Inscribed Noble Topaz - 4 Crit , 4 Str
Blue - Sovereign Nightseye - 4 Str , 6 Sta

48 Str
44 Agi
18 Sta
4 Crit
8 Hit

((48*2)*120%) + 44 = 159.20 total Attack Power

Going with 3x Bold Living Ruby = 174.40 Attack Power

Thoughts of this for a Survival Hunter. I've been looking at it, and i currently use Assassination Tunic, however the loss in AP i feel is made up in potential crit. any thoughts?

Great option for an Enhancement shaman as well (well for PvE/raiding). Obviously ignoring stamina, int and armor for a second, this chest will yield more DPS output than T4 Cyclone chest.

There aren't too many chest options for raiding enhancement shaman that don't blow their item budget on giving you useless mp5.

Ex. All of the below items have mp5 budget, which is about as useful as spirit for an enh shaman:

Wowhead!Cyclone Breastplate
Gladiator's Linked Armor
Ebon Netherscale Breastplate

I would suggest getting this chestpiece crafted if you have the gold to spare. It makes a great upgrade until you replace it with T5, Ranger-General's Chestguard , or my personal favorite: Bloodsea Brigand's Vest

This only difficult part of getting this made is the Bolts of Soulcloth, which you will need to get a tailor to do for you. I have a bit of trouble finding them in the AH, so some may have to get the raw mats.

In total you will need...

-96 Netherweave Cloth
-128 Soul Essences (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21882)

...total to have the raw mats for the tailor to make them:

-6 Netherweave Cloth go into a Bolt of Netherweave (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21840)
-1 Bolt of Netherweave plus 8 Soul Essences goes into a Bolt of Soulcloth (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21894)
-16 Bolts of Soulcloth go into the chestpiece
