A very nice upgrade over battlescar boots from the chest event (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28747) .

Assuming you socket this with a solid star of elune, and the battlescar boots with solid star of elune and a +8 parry rating gem you get:
+15 stam
-3 defense rating
-32 parry rating
-18 strength (0.9 block value)
+28 shield block rating
+47 shield block value

A downgrade when it comes down to avoidance, but seeing that mitigation and stamina is prefered in 25 man raids, this is a considerable upgrade.

I had the Red Havoc Boots and upgraded to these. The higher stamina is good for the end game raid tanking (as most tanks know) and although it is a slight avoidance reduction the block value increases the shield slam threat which is great for gaining that little bit more aggro to squeeze more dps from the raid without breaking the tanks threat.

Overall if you've got enough defense to be able to use these over Red Havoc Boots (and still stay above the 490 requirement) it seems to be a preferable choice, not to mention the savings involved.

These are an amazing pair of boots for any Warrior or Paladin tank. They have a good amount of Defense rating, along with about 3.55% block chance from the Block rating on these boots, and a good amount of Block value also. These boots have 43 Stamina on them with a blue socket in them which makes it even better. If you have done the quest in Zul'aman already for the +15 stamina gem http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34256 you can put that in here if you wish, or save it for your Gruul shield or something else perhaps.

Also, for all you Jewelcrafters out there who have not inserted your Falling Star somewhere, this +18 stamina along with the already 43 comes to 61, along with a +12 stamina enchant it rises up to 73 Stamina.

The +5 Block value from the socket bonus on these boots is also nice for increasing your Shield Slam damage helping you gain threat so that your not gonna lose aggro on an important fight and most likely end up wiping your raid.

Personally, once I come along these I would be using them for a very long time until something better comes up.

A pair of boots superior in every way of the Red Havoc ones, makes me sad I spent so much money on blacksmithing. Insert the ZA reward gem and give it the +12 sta enchant, You won't be replacing it fast. I'm even in doubt of using the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32268 from BT over them that much unless MTing. Might be an idea to put boar's speed on another pair if you get them, since they aren't unique, and it's a nice enchant for some encounters.

My tank points add on says the elusion boots are better even with a +12 stam gem and +12 stam enchant.

Paladins - i'd suggest either whacking a dodge/stm or pure dodge gem in these. The Parry gem as noted above as being used is honestly not a great choice, as parry recieves such a low increase from rating compared to dodge or block.

The socket bonus is bypassable. The standard stamina/defense/block rating on these makes them far surpass anything you'll see for a long time, and are better than the heroic reward boots.

It's my opinion that http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33523 is better than these now. You lose some block value but you pick up an extra socket and 18 hit rating.... well worth it to me.
