I forsee these bracers making a lot of gold for Black Temple raiders, since they are BoE, however most of the heart of darknesses will likely be used for resist gear, so it will be some time before these will be sold.

Passive spell haste is very good for a Mage, although it is a little lacking for Warlocks since most DoT spells are instant or 1.5 cast, but it is still useful Shadowbolt and when you are getting some lag.

if only these had some spell crit.
cloth bracer seem to lack spell crit.
these however are just purely amazing. i would love these. im 10/48/3 (mage) and the spell haste would be pretty nice when im chain casting fireballs.
spell haste is getting nerfed in 2.1 however so it wont be a huge bonus but very nice nonetheless.

i am planning on getting these once my guild starts BT. (depending on how many hearts of darkness are needed for resist gear)

Even after the nerf the haste rating would be more than 1% increase in casting speed, while 1% increase in DPS generally requires not a lot less than 20 spell damage for a geared mage.

Comparing these with the other pair of end-game bracers, the Cuffs of Devastation (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30870) it is a difference between:

5 Stamina
28 Haste Rating

vs

19 Spirit
12 Spell Damage
14 Spell Crit
(This is assuming a +12 spell damage gem, the wisest choice)

This works out to be quite equal, although I'm even tempted to say the Haste Rating outweighs the damage and crit. 28 Haste Rating equals to 1,33%, which is nearly 0,05 seconds on a regular Fireball.

Spell haste is getting buffed in patch 2.2 from 21 to 15.7 Spell Haste rating = 1% cast time reduction at Level 70.

For these bracers:

2.1 = 1.33...% reduction in cast time @ Level 70.

2.2 = 1.78% reduction in cast time @ Level 70.

I certainly see the appeal of spell haste for the casters, especially with the 2.2 buff.

The only problem with this bracer is you need 4 hearts of darkness, which means you cannot have this item until your guild has enough shadow resist for the raid. However, once that is reached, spell haste is an interesting stat to play with.

15.7 Spell Haste rating = 1%
12.6 hit rating = 1% hit max is 201.4 for 16%
22.1 Crit rating = 1% crit

Getting haste, hit, or crit up 1% increases total damage by 1% from a regular direct damage non-crit cast (If your crits hit for 100% because of talents like ruin) So for this item 34 haste rating would increase total damage 2.14%. To get the same damage percentage you would need 27.28 hit rating or 47.85 crit rating.

The additional benefit of haste rating is to be able to get that cast off before your opponent does, (more viable in PVP). Normal case in warlock vs warlock both casting fear both would be feared, yet the guy with haste rating instead of more hit or crit gear gets to fear him before he can get it off ever so slightly.

The only negative to haste rating is that you are still doing the same damage per mana, just faster. This may be more of a factor to mages who can't lifetap like warlocks.

Overall awesome stat, gear may be very hard to get. When these are able to be purchased I will buy it. Too bad there isn't more gear for us non-End of End game raiders.

These. Are. Great.

In fact, for a crafted item, they're too good. For low hit-required specs, these beat http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32270 easily. If you need hit, it's still a tough choice. It's always the "i-can-make-these-anytime" vs. "i-can-wait-2months-for-drop" for the latter.
Especialy since they arent even that pricey.

For shadow priests, these bracers are the second best in the game - the first being a drop in sunwell plateau. Well worth making if the mats are available to you.
