Best Hemo Weapon

When Naxx came out every non-dagger rogue wanted the Misplace Servo Arm for its proc, weapon speed, and top end. This is THE hemo weapon for rogues and there is no substitute. Drakefist was alright but sinister strike still out did hemo by a wide margin but with the 2.8 speed that this mace gives more hemo rogues will start show up in raids and BG's. It wont be a lolhemospecnoob style of play anymore

leech 20 life for 6 second? that's a crappy proc. how many hits can you get in 6 seconds? 20 hits for 400hp... unless this thing proc every 10 sec or so, it's a crappy proc. and here i thought fel energy was suppose to make you stronger. it'd be a lot better if the proc was +AP of some sort.

22dmg more than dragonstrike topend, +50ap, .10 slower speed, and a useless proc that does nothing for your dps. that's not much of an upgrade considering the haste on BS mace is up for about 40%-60% of combat. in long fights, it's not gonna do more dmg than BS mace, and even if it does, it's not gonna be by much, as the BS mace will greatly increase off-hand dmg and whatever proc you have on off-hand.

Also note that if the bufff only lasts for 6 secs, it will only allow 2 hits from this mace. So it would be good with a fast off-hand. So for a combat rogue with fast off-hand for combat potency, this is really great.

Enhancement shamans with Flurry and Windfury could probably make very good use of this, since to my knowledge haste effects do not lower the proc rates on chance on hit properties.

Think of the proc this way ... as a Fury Warrior - Blood Craze (3/3) gives you 3% of your health over 6 secs, Blood thirst gives you 30 health per strike for 5 strikes, This proc gives you 20 per hit over 6 seconds. That's all adding up to a decent constant HoT thank you very much !!

In recent times, I've ended fights with VERY little HP left, had it not been for the little 3% / 6secs heals I get at least once a fight - I would have died... don't knock these little heals - they can mean a lot.

Whilst this weapon has very nice top end i would not recomend it for a fury warrior. It just lacks the stats we need on a weapon (namely Hit, Crit and AP)

unfortunately, since hte buff is only 6 seconds long, haste isn't going to have that much effect in getting extra hits off during the proc.

and it's only 20hp. bfd.

When something like this *drains* life, the implication is that you're gaining the life you take from them, so yes, it is healing you. Also, if you read Cheaney's post he actually mentions the healing that you get.

Frankly, I'm not sure why this isn't an appealing weapon, the damage range is top notch, it has a decent 50 ap and the drain is just a neat bonus. It's clearly a great alternative, or even an upgrade, to the the BS mace if you're already locked into other professions (you're the guilds' alch / herb for example).

If nothing else, this is the most dps on a one hand weapon with a speed this high in the game. This should certainly make it one of the best weapons for hemo rogues.

The speed of this weapon make it the best enhance shaman offhand weapon in the game. The only thing that might be better than two Syphons is Dragonstrike with a Syphon offhand.

I got this yesterday, the proc rate is not superb, but not bad either. Proccing about 1-2 per trash pack. The damage/heal is rougly 20-30, not static 20 and both of your weapons will do the leech. The downside is that it only lasts 6 seconds, but if you have SnD up like you should (as a rogue) the damage is ok.

For each proc I could deal maybe 200ish damage. I did not yet test it on bosses since my new maces are not enchanted and skill is few points from max. I'll report back when I see it on bosses

The proc is not something that makes this mace superrior, it's the speed and DPS.

With Curse of Shadows, Shadow Weaving, and Misery, the leeching effect steals 25.6 hp every swing when it proccs.

Whereas the Servo Arm's is an "Equip:" effect, this mace's is a "Chance on Hit:".

The Servo Arm's effect can proc off nearly anything, including the following:

Hits from the weapon held in the other hand
Abilities (yellow hits)
Poison procs
Procs of a second Servo Arm held in the other hand

However, both weapons benefit from many of the same character attributes, such as fast attack speed (Slice and Dice, Melee Haste), and by extension Dual-Wielding.

The spell would and will effect the proc since the proc is considered a spell and receives spell modifiers (Shadoweave, Misery etc).
Anyways it would only make it better than best.
This is currently the best Enhancement offhand avaible.
Crit 1.7k WF offhand on Shade of Akama :p

This mace is ideal for Shamans, since it has a slow speed, though sadly it lacks crit%. -> One hand, not unique!

On the other hand, Rogues can make the most out of this aswell, with the incoming 2.3 expertise rating coming in and increased critical damage bonus aside from the stunproc, this is a great speed for a mainhand and will guarantee you some rather high damage. Take into account that Sinister Strike is normalized at 2.60 speed, and Hemorrhage isn't, so this speed would be good for Hemo specced rogues, atleast for a mace as there aren't that many maces with this or higher speed that I know of.

I'd say it's an "upgraded" version of Fool's Bane.

it does 20 base dmg + 20 healing. Healing effects by default are 50% threat, and only healing you actually need gives any threat at all. I believe tis dmg IS increased by shadow weaving and curse of shadows

further more a warriors battle/berserker stance innate threat modifiers ( believes rogues as well) means all of it generates 30% less threat, and if you spec imp zerker stance that threat reduction applies as well. Enh. shamans do not get any innate threat reduction and the threat reduction for spirit weapons does not apply to the threat from this proc.

All in all the threat generated from this proc is pretty marginal when compared that a single swing from this weapon is probably going to be in the 800+ range 30-50 more threat is less than 5% more threat per swing while the proc is up.

Comparing the proc on this weapon to a crafted SSC/TK weapon (Dragonstrike), it's pretty poor. An upgrade of the haste proc from Dragonstrike (or a slightly weaker version, since it may be dual-weilded, would have been much better..or any other proc for that matter, +AP, etc.

After Sunwell, this is still the best Mainhand Weapon for an Enhancement shaman.
A close second is Season 3 weapons, followed by Claw of Molten Fury, Vanirs fist and then Naj'entus' axe.

Mounting Vengance is the best offhand regardless of the speed difference.

enhacement shammy, using this as OH, claw of molten fury in MH, last Hyjal run downing 4 bosses, this drained 9419 health, with 392 procs. I'd "guess" when it procs, I usually get 4 heals off of it, so basically 110 xtra dmg per proc for me. I've seen 6 procs a good bit and had 8 nice little green 21's a few times. A bit trickier with shammys and ss/flurry procs, If a rouge would mh this with their fast oh daggers, would be interesting to see their avg number of heals/drains per proc. I'd eventually like to dw two of these

If you can manage to get two of these, this is the ultimate weapons for a Rogue(with at least 21 points in combat), Furry warrior(or hybrid warrior using duelwielding), and Full enhancment shaman(both need flurry however).

I.e.: If the rogue has an enhancment shaman in his group then for 15 secs(obviously poping some cooldowns during when both of these maces proc) the rogue can atk with both weapons at a 1.4 speed, from just procs and talents only, if he/she has haste rating in addition then this figure can be much lower. So for 6 secs(assuming no windfury totem procs of course) you get 8 total atks or more +6 main hand swings with hemo/sinister strike for a total of at least 14 hits for a total of ~280 health leeched and damage delt extra, now if using bladefurry and you get 2 targets close by this doubles to 560 health/damage done, very desierable for pve and pvp aplications, this works with warriors even better because of whirlwind, which will hit up to four targets once with each weapon for a total of 8 melee atks as well, combined with flurry and perhaps bloodlust and windfury for another possible 6 hits, making it on par with a rogue using bladefury assuming you can hit four targets with whirlwind(which can also proc windfury on each of the whirlwind hits as well I hear.), so obviously better for pvp in that case or for atking certain bosses with lots of addspawn.
For enhancment shaman the bonus is not quite as extreme since a windfuryweapon enchant proc will not count towards multiple hits like with warriors and rogues using a windfury totem, it still is impressive however do to their gear nature. The proc is a physical school drain so buffs like the warrior 4% increased pysical damage will yield slightly more damage with this proc as well.

So for pvp, a 3v3 team of flurry/whirlwind/ms warrior, mace/combat rogue(up to adrenialine rush and then hemo/dirty deeds build) and enhancment shaman, all duelwielding these would be....just disgustingly powerful ;) good luck people. (me and my friend have both fought a 2v2 team of enhancment shaman and rogue both duel wielding these at around the 2100-2400 braket before and we could not bring their health down at all, with bladfury the rogue was just to strong and the shaman was strong as well, my friend's lock was full vengeful SL/SL spec of course with a rogue partner in full venge, these guys were in almost entierly pvp gear(so assume lots of armor pene and extra haste rating(not to mention the rogue had dragonspine of course).

After several nights of raiding, recap puts the damage from the proc on this at just over half of the damage from the poison vial proc, meaning you can pretty much discount the proc in your calculations for this.

got this not long ago, one of the best ghostly-strike weapons at level 70.

with http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=57124 my http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=14278 hits for 175% NON-NORMALIZED weapon dmg.

which means, at around 2k attack power, your 40-energy ghostly strike will hit 1200 non-crit. with http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31223 it will hit 1300+ non-crit.

i understand that you can't spam ghostly-strike but when you combine 1300-ghostly-strike with 5-point eviscerate you are looking at some mad burst dmg for a non-dagger rogue.

plus, the 2.8 speed is really really nice for PPM enchants. it's better than http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35071 imo. plus, it looks very nice. and most importantly, the weapon proc: http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=40291 has a very sexy sound, it's very intimidating to your opponents.

Just to put this into an outrageous view.
Let's say a Warrior is Dual-wielding two of these, and miraculously the procs occur at the same time, while 4 mobs are surrounding you with Retaliation popped.
You'll get two attacks in from each weapon during the six seconds the proc lasts.
The mobs attacking you will hit you about 2 times each, allowing for 8 total counterattacks.
Throw in a Bloodthirst, Hamstring, another instant attack (Rend?) and use Whirlwind.
Do all the math and:
2 attacks each weapon (4) + 8 counterattacks from retaliation (8) + Bloodthirst+Hamstring+Rend (3) + Whirlwind (8) x 20 healing/damage =....

A total of ((2+8+3+8)x20)=420 bonus damage dealt, and 420 damage healed.
Considering the scenario, I don't think it's really worth it. It's still a nice addition, but it really won't add as much as you'd think.

Even so, the slow speed and high damage per hit makes this ideal for any dual-wielding class. Even though Wrath kind of reduces the usefulness of BT.

For anyone wondering how well this would work for a Bear now that on-hit procs are triggered by Swipe... well... don't go out of your way to get hold of one. I did, and then did a stack of testing by soloing a bunch of BC heroics.

The Siphon Essence effect procced thousands of times during the runs but still only managed 3.5% effective healing. Contrast this with Mark of Conquest (5%), Darkmoon Card: Heroism (7.5%), Lifeward (35%) and Improved Leader of the Pack (45%). Potions and Frenzied Regeneration made up the small amount left over.

Given the paltry returns and the lack of a suitable off-hand to go with this item, my advice would be to stick with a Lifewarded 2-Hander. The compound effects of more stamina+agility (which improve returns from ILotP) and higher critical strike+attack power (which reduces damage via Savage Defense) far outweigh the health returned via the Siphon Essence proc.

Self-healing bear builds can skip this item.

If you're running this solely for transmog, consider farming 血顱摧毀者. It is the same model, and drops from Lieutenant Drake in Old Hillsbrad heroic. Daily cooldown on running it, and it is also larger scale than the Syphon.
