As can be seen from the updated item pic, the release of patch 2.3 will make all gladiator pieces part of the same set (Gladiator Vestments), meaning no more double +35 resilence 2 piece bonus. You will also get the 4 piece bonus for 2 pieces of season one gear and 2 pieces of season 2 gear, rather than requiring 4 pieces of season 2.

If you're like me, you're an under geared rogue. With S4 coming out some time in the forseeable future, I'll be looking to use some spare honor points to upgrade my PvE DPS. Now, assuming NO heroic gear, the order you should be looking at to upgrade are:

Merciless Gladiator's Shiv

I use mutilate, so of course I'm gonna get the daggers. Just substitute whatever weapon spec you use instead :) Remember, weapon boosts are generally the largest DPS increase for physical DPS classes, so nabbing the S2 weapons should be priority number 1.

Next are the armor upgrades:

Merciless Gladiator's Leather Helm

Keep in mind that the real draw here is the shoulders. They provide a ~3 DPS increase over Expedition Scout's Epaulets with 2 +8 Hit gems. The helm and chest are more DPS sidegrades against the average rogue gear Helm of the Claw and Hauberk of Karabor, respectively. Both the HoC and HoK are relatively easy to get for beginning 70 rogues, but if you're having trouble finding groups for them, the gladiator gear will more than cover it.

Fel Leather Leggings or Leggings of the Betrayed are better than the S2 legs, as are Fel Leather Gloves better than the S2 hands. You're better off saving those honor points for the +20 AP gem.

Again, keep in mind that this is only for the starter rogue and only for PvP'ing for PvE upgrades. If you're looking to get a foothold when starting an arena team, by all means get all the gear and wreck some faces :)

EDIT: I forgot to mention the ranged weapon: Merciless Gladiator's War Edge. This is ~.2 DPS upgrade over the easily obtainable Felsteel Whisper Knives. Keep in mind though that the War Edge is the lowest DPS upgrade out of all the viable PvP options, so you should leave that one for last.
