A pretty darned useless hammer, I have to say.

The spell crit rules this out from being a Ret Paladin mace, and the low spell damage rules this out for Moonkins and Ele Shamans.

It isn't a real spell damage weapon per se, as no DPS has been converted into spell damage. It has the same DPS as other non-spell damage maces of the same item level. The spell damage has been taken from its other stats.

This is an AMAZING weapon for Protection paladins. It has the highest level and dps of any two-hander with spell damage. So when you're fighting a caster--something that doesn't consume Holy Shield charges or proc Reckoning often, using Seal of Righteousness with this baby is your best best.

Even better, the attack speed is beautiful. It's fast enough to get all 4 charges of Reckoning when used in conjunction with SotC, and 3 of the 4 if you'd rather use another Seal. Six chances at Seal/Judgement of Light or Wisdom, or six SoR procs adds up fast. So you can build some massive threat and damage with this if you're overgearing content or helping to focus something that doesn't require a shield.

Only thing that sucks is that this is the BEST weapon in its class--no rare or epic upgrades.

Edit: Okay, not the only one. Hammer of Righteous Might (BS crafted, 70 req) and Hammer of the Sporelings (Sporeggar quest reward) are feasible alternatives. I noticed that Zangarmarsh Claymore is a reward from the same quest as Hammer of the Sporelings, and Z.C. is another weapon with a 2.8 speed, except with Retribution stats.
