The Tier 5 helm is a good deal better than this, but this is a good intermediate helm for paladins with Tier 4 who havent downed Vashj yet. The lack of a meta gem slot is outweighed by the heavy stats and mp5. I havent picked one up yet personally because I prefer the engineering goggles http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32472 but I may once the paladins in guild with Tier 4 have it. T5 helms are in high demand.

Mainpoint: As others have said, the MP5 and stats on this helm, make it a good upgrade/sidegrade from the T4 helm. Let's assume for TC sake that you have the t4 helm socketed and both enchanted with the Honor Hold enchant:

I don't think this helm is good at all. The lack of a meta is a severe concern. Mystical and Insightful are both very very good for raiding paladins. Insightful for example yields a maximum of 15mp5, and not forgetting it has 12int as well. On top of this, it lacks a socket and hence T5 is ||significantly|| better. If you're using a fixed price DKP system, forget about getting this. It does look hot though from the screenshot.

Crit should still be a main focus for a paladains stats. That doesent meen leave your mp5 just keep a balance but the one thing that people do forget is when a heal crits it heals for alot more which can meen you have to do less healing anyway.

This helmet is a complete waste of time. The best stats for a paladin healer is spell crit. You wonder why this is? Well it's simple. The Brighthelm may have a bunch of mp5, but when you calculate how big a bonus spellcrit will give for a paladin you can see why the best healers in the world stack spellcrit at least as a paladin. I will compare the two helms below and then describe what makes spellcrit rating better.

The T4 helm you have a meta gem and that is approx. 15mp5 BY ITSELF then you have another gem that you can further customize with +9 healing and +2mp5 or i might even go with +18 healing here, with the +25 spellcrit and +75 healing.

The Brighthelm is basically taking your spellcrit and throwing it out the window. This helmet has some added stat bonuses, a little more healing, and some armor which can be thrown out the window when your a raid healer cuz you shouldn't be getting hit anyways.

FOR PALADINS spell crit is amazing. You gain 60% mana back from casts and you have abilities and other such nonsense that further reduce mana cost, and cause your heals to crit guaranteed. Techniqueally you can ACTUALLY regen mana while your cooldown is burned with spellcrit rating. Paladins should burn this cooldown everytime it's up, or if your fight is not healing intensive when any burst damage is inccurred among your raid. That is actually in reality a TON of mana back that should more than make up for your mp5. The t4 helm is better for this reason, and is easier to get. Plus here are some added bonuses with spellcrit. YOUR HEALS ARE HUGE!!! A paladin with huge spellcrit should out heal or equal heal anyone in the raid ( exception to chain healing shammy's ). Here is a short list that makes spellcrit better.

1) Healing spell crit = 60% mana regained from your spells cast
2) Healing spell crit with Divine Illumination means your actually regen 10% of your casts base heal
3) Healing spell crits deliver exponentially more health than non crit

all these factors coming into play means that spell crit is actually hidden mana regen and just an ENORMOUS bonus to your healing. Any paladin should try to pick up as much healing and spellcrit as they can. mp5 is nice, but with a smart paladin you should not need it.

This statement is half true. mp5 is more reliable, but the fact remains that you said chaining spells. If you chain 5 spells at 30% crit rate that means 2 of your heals will generally crit (30% crit can easily be obtained from karazhan gear) as of right now my FoL has approx 30% crit and i'm not using anything obtained after karazhan. NOW this is not to say that mp5 casters are not good. A big focus for paladins is crit. There are many many things you can do to generate mana while chain casting as a crit pally. The fact is true though mp5 is more reliable, but even for a 10 minute battle you should still keep enough mana spell crit stacked. You can always say mp5 is good because it's reliable, but for a long battle your going to generate just as much mana chain casting as a critadin as you are with a regen pally, because you get 60% of you mana back for your base spell cost. And the +12 intel chance to restore mana on cast generates an average of 15mp5 which isn't bad, and the fact is that the 15mp5 on the gem is AVERAGE so your going to generate close to that amount. The fact is that even if your raid specced as a paladin your job is a critadin. Mp5 casters are good, and you will always have those as you will find all holy priests, resto druids, and resto shamans ALL are stacked with mp5. Holy Paladins are unique and should always be specced for criting heals. Paladins are the most overpowered single target healing class, and an amazing all around healer, why not take advantage of your most unique aspect?

here are some helpful gear tips for paladins who are going to build crit, but quickly realized karazhan gear isn't giving you the crit you want.

1) Grab an arena team, get 1150 points and buy the gloves (2% FoL crit. and spell crit). They are very good and imo they are better than the t4 gloves in almost every aspect. (yes you lose healing, but you must remember spell crit = more healing so do not get confused by that).
2) The veterans bracers, belt, and boots are all better than the karazhan pieces for crit. Grab up the marks as quickly as you can and go to town on AV weekend for your honor.
3) then the rest of your gear should fall into place with raiding. A few nice healing spell crit. things drop out of karazhan, but it wasn't enough for my taste so i turned to the pvp pieces above.
4) DO NOT be confused by the lore of the t4 set. If you do you will lose out to some good gear. The shoulders off aran, and the pants off chess are BETTER than the t4 pieces.

Hopefully this stuff helps some people, i'm just trying to help people realize the uniqueness of paladin healers.

Anyway, i deleted the cloak long ago, so i can't have it anymore and it's skin is unique =(

Also i dont have the legs , so i use Justicar (Tier 4) ones. I found that Valor or Lawbringer ( Tier 1) aren't bad choices too!

I'd like to ask you guys for Cloak/Legs/ And maybe belt suggestions to improve the look , but i think i've pulled i very cool one here ;D!

The Legs are those from the "Sunwell Plate" set but appear to match better than any other items i've found, and the Belt is meant to match tier 6 but it also works very well.
