This seems like a good place to point out the existence of:

Demonic Bulwark of the Physician

This item is crazy. It has an effective +97 healing, so you gain 55 healing over this shield, at the cost of 3 intellect and 8 mp5. I'm pretty sure you know which one you would take.

This is a really nice shield for a healing paladin or shaman. There are two major points that make it stand out from the competition.

Firstly: the mp5. On longer fights, this is going to make all the difference, and 8mp5 is a lot of mana.
Secondly: the stamina. You can only heal when you are alive.

While there are other shields that have higher +heal values, overall, this one wins out because of the combination of a decent +heal, some mp5 and some stamina.

Well worth getting.

Great shield, looks good, good stats, but I just wanted to point out, that while you have it equipped, it's a little off-center when it sheathed and on your back, so it looks a little funny if you look closely.

when u look at the shield it looks kinda like a map of the terrace of light in shatrath

This shield is great. Good combination of stats, mp5, and healing. However, I used to curse the chess event on a weekly basis until I came across this shield: , the Enamelled Disk of Mojo. It dropped for me yesterday in ZA, and I have been very happy with it. It is a worthwhile upgrade from this item, no doubt.

EDIT: I'm new to posting, so the hyperlink to Enamelled Disk of Mojo didn't work. Enjoy. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33332

In case anyone else was wondering like me:

A triptych is a work of art (usually a panel painting) which is divided into three sections, or three carved panels which are hinged together and folded.

So, now that I've acquired this gorgeous-looking shield for transmog, I'm avidly looking for weapons to match its slick, coppery look. Any suggestions?

I received this one from Dust Covered Chest after defeating and winning the chess event in WoW Legion 7.1, it seems to be really rare though according to the unknown drop rate.

In 7.1 it shows with the following attributes.

Triptych Shield of the Ancients (Epic)
Shield
Off Hand
Item Level 115
172 Armor
11 Intellect
25 Stamina
12 Versatility
Requires Level 70
