I'm surprised no one has said anything about this sword. Essentially, it's the best non-crafted and non-drop sword in the entire game. The ease of obtaining the necessary points to spend on this sword remains questionable, but the DPS and stats alone on it makes it worth any efforts to obtain. Great for Hemorrhage rogues!

This sword is the best PvE DPS mainhand sword until you can get into serpentshrine cavern for the Talon of Azshara. It's well worth getting and spending the money to get it re-enchanted.

Let's discuss combat rogues.

Other than Talon and maybe Spiteblade and Blinkstrike, this is the best mainhand for a combat rogue.

Talon has a higher end hit and more dps, but is less attainable due to it being in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Spiteblade is 2.7 speed, so I'm not sure what kind of dps you'd get out of it compared to this. I'm guessing shorter fights Spiteblade would be the better choice, while during longer fights Slicer would output more dps.

Blinkstrike might also contend. It's speed is 2.6 and the proc is quite frequent, boosting it's dps.

All four of these weapons are very good, if you're looking for an upgrade, just choose your route.

If you farm a lot, get Blinkstrike, if you love PvP, get Slicer.

If you raid a lot and happen to be in Serpentshrine, go for the Talon, not Spiteblade.

This is kind of unrelated, but as far as I know, all of the Gladiator's and Merciless Gladiator's swords will not show enchants, as they already have a glow on them.

So Mongoose will not spark through the glow already on this pretty piece.

I love these swords. Every time I hit someone they scream "oh my god! The pain!" As for the size change, it looks more proportional and less like you're compensating for something.

This sword is too slow for Protection paladins who need Reckoning to hit all 4 times.

However, since there is no PvP reward 1 hander that does decent damage, has a speed of 2 or less, and has +spell damage on it, this sword (or the equivalent mace if you prefer its aesthetics) is probably the best choice for an arena-bound protection paladin.

Druids get their own "druidy" mace, it would be nice to see a PvP sword geared specifically toward protadins. It's as though Blizzard thinks protadins don't PvP or something.

This used to be "The Sword of a Thousand Truths" in the World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade test, but was renamed, and it also had a caption saying

"Finely crafted to Salzman's specification"

Who was a character in the south park episode who said "The sword can hit 120 DPS with an instant mana burn and an enchantment that boosts the stamina plus 80." Although it does not have the same capabilities as in the show, but a sword with the same model, The Hungering Cold look just like it in the episode. This information was found on the wikipedia article "Make Love, Not Warcraft" the name of the south park episode.
