i use this with Slice and Dice for my rogue, made a macro here:

trinket itself gives 24.73% haste speed

you get 54.73% faster attacks for 10 seconds with them both active, even faster if you have assassination armor set bonus ;-) (which adds 15.22% haste for 6 seconds)

very nice trinket, will last until i get bloodlust brooch

i think the reason theres the 1 sec minimum attack speed cap is cuz a troll with low hp and berserker racial buff, 2 assasination set peices, drakefist hammer MH, Blackout Truncheon OH, Dragonspine Trophy, slice and dice and this trinkets use and finally bloodlust (or what its called for draeneis) could get such crazy attack speed if he was lucky to get it all triggered, that only god knows what would happen if there wasnt the 1 sec cap..

When i used a crappy 2,0sword 1-3weeks ago i got it down to 0,7 normaly or something like that, so you can get it lower than 1sec attack speed

if wep. speed cant go below 1.0 then dagger rogues are at a severe disadvantage here... w/ all my speed boosts and everything i can get my tooltip to tell me my OH is at 0.54 speed... the normal speed being 1.5... thats almost a 300% increase in speed and essentialy white dps not to mention Combat Potency procs... now lets say a sword/fist/mace rogue uses the same abilities/pots/trinkets w/ a 3.0 speed weapon... he can get it down to 1.08... just above the "cap" (if there is one...) so the sword/fist/mace rogue would be at a solid ~300% speed increase while the dagger rogue is at a 75% increase to damage... HORRIBLE... the dagger spec is supposed to be the "raid/max dps" spec for rogues... this really throws things outta whack imo... i'd think blizz would realize this w/ the cap and decide against it... until someone can prove that the cap does exist... I just can't believe blizz would nerf dag spec this badly especially w/ the way they're trying to seperate the rogue weapon specs into different parts of the game

topped w/ an Adrenaline Rush you can BS as fast as the global cooldown allows for ~10-12sec... which is really fun when Curator takes 200% dmg...

I assumed that haste effects like this would kill the proc rate on Seal of Command, but I've been reading some people saying that haste does not reduce the proc rate since it's based of normal weapon speed. Can anyone verify?

100% attack speed increase means that you attack twice as fast; 100% more attacks in any given time. Or a reduction of the 'melee cooldown' - the swing timer - by 50%.

Of course, haste exponentially diminishes because the swing timer reduction multiplier is 1/(1+haste%); at 100% haste, the swing timer is halved; at 200% haste, it's divided by 3; at 300% haste, it's divided by four, etc.

I only say this because when one looks at a "100% haste increase," you'd tend to think that you attack infinitely - or nigh-infinitely fast (approaching 1/0 from the right side).

In short, the haste mechanic percent increases are deceiving.

It just occurred to me that this would be really nice for a prot/ret reckoning paladin. As soon as reckoning procs, pop this and you'll be much more likely to get a third double-swing with your 2H. With reckoning being an 8 sec window, and three swings taking over 7 seconds (with two 3.6 sec waits = 7.2 secs), it's easy to miss the third swing if your first double-hit swing comes later than 0.8 secs after the reckoning proc. This speeds your swing to roughly 3.06 with a 3.6 weapon.

As a furry warrior this be one interesting trinket. With both this trinket popped and flurry active, the attack speed of a 2.6 weapon is brought down to about 1.6.

During a warriors recklessness/execute phase, a 1.6 speed weapon increases damage gained from executes done over time by %39 by suppling rage at a rate close to executes global cool down.

This adds an interesting DPS benefit to warriors that use slow/slow for the maximum benefit to whirlwind / flury procing.

(Not to mention the fat amount of AP and the haste proc with regards to white damage.)

Comparing this to Core of Arkelos (easy to get green trinket with 200 AP for 20 sec activatable ability, and 52 AP)

Assuming 1600 unbuffed AP

Abacus of Violent odds:
64 AP/1600 AP=4% damage
260 haste=16.5% damage for 10 secs

Core of Arkelos:
52 AP/1600 AP=3.25% damage
200 AP/1600 AP=12.5% damage for 20 secs

since both are on the same timer, double the damage on arkelos activated ability (since it lasts 2x as long) to make them even=25% damage
25%-16.5%=8.5% damage
8.5% damage/(20/120)(this is the time for the arkelos buff over the cooldown, giving you the total average increase)=1.42% damage.
4% damage-3.25% damage (straight dps on both trinkets)=abacus better by .75% damage
1.42% (the damage diff on the activatables, with arkelos being better)-.75% (damage on straight increase, with abacus being better)=core is .67% better.

save yourself the trouble and get the core, the stacking might be nice, but its just another cool effect, and the AP is better, even if you have 2k unbuffed, its still better by at least .3% (i don't want to go thru the math, AND explain it to you, again)

If you have abilities that benefit insanely from +speed, more power to ya, but if not, the core is better for straight dps.

Core of Arkelos is better than Bladefists breadth, just take my word for it (BB is the other easy to get trinket at 60+) BB=1.something crit (1.2? 1.3?), ark=roughly 2-3% damage (depending on ur unbuffed AP), damage %=crit chance, so even with talent boosting abilities, ark is better.

Reccommended trinkets: hourglass of the unraveller and core of arkelos for pre heroic and kara 70s.
the hourglass is better than ark, see my post on that, and the ark is better than the other trinkets.

I know an Abacus is one of those things you can slide the beads on for basic addition and subtraction...
How that relates to a WoW trinket which gives haste rating i'm not quite sure...

The "Violent" part is actualy the only bit that makes sense as far as I can tell

and "Odds" does bear a slight relation to "Abacus" in that they are both math related

since it does drop off someone with the title "The calculator" there is the recurring math-ish theme

I guess it's an abacus which lets you violently kill your enemies... and that's rather odd

In a rogues point of view, with the right items you can reach abnormous heights when it comes to haste!
Not going into detail at this point, you have 25% passive haste. Gems and all. Your really pro.
Assume you use these weps and this trinket besides the rest of the passive haste gear you've got:

Ok, now assume this happens:

- All 3 off em procc, leaving pretty exactly 43.40% haste.
- You use the Abacus we are chatting about, 16,50% haste.
- You got 2 piece Assas, when you Kidney/Cheap its 10.15% Haste
- Slice and Dice up, 30% Haste
- Blade Flurry up, 20% Haste
- Haste Pot used, 25.3% Haste
- Heroism, 30% Haste
- Doubble Mongoose procc, 4% Haste
- Drums of Battle is popped, ~5.3% Haste

Alltogether at the same time we can max our haste on a rogue to (unless ur haste is more then what i put as a standard output with the same trinkets and weps, shouldn't be easy):

Ca. 209.5% Haste!

That will last for about max 4 seconds if you ever manage to see all that procc, but so worth it.

with the weps chosen, with speed 2.70 and 1.50, I think the speed would drop to about 0.90 for mainhand and 0.50 for offhand.
(200% haste = , so its slightly more. like 0.85 mainhand and 0.47 offhand)
