This is the first possible true paladin tanking weapon in the game. I call this a true paladin tanking weapon because it has 4 spell damage on it, which is what paladins use to generate their area-of-effect threat, and usually their main source of spell damage is on their weapon. All the weapons with any spell damage on them with a lower item level than this are daggers and staves, both of which a paladin can't equip.

If you're a paladin tanking RFK and this drops for you, don't hesitate to roll need. It is good for tanking at this level.

Feel free to downrate this if I'm wrong, but if you do, please provide an explanation of how so in a reply. I'll happily delete this comment myself if I'm wrong.

Edit: When I posted this initially in patch 2.4.2, most of paladin threat was based on spell damage. Now, it's based on mainly attack power and block value (str!). This weapon is bad for prot now. Don't bother with it. :)

I'm not sure that the drop rate listed is accurate. I may be just extremely unlucky, but I killed Death Speaker Jargba 36 consecutive times and the mace never dropped. So with the 5 instances per hour rule, I guess I wasted about 7 hours on this.

According to mobinfo, he dropped the Robes 21 times (59%) and the Mantle 15 times (42%).

I just want to warn people that if you plan on farming this item, be prepared for a very long night, and it still may not drop at all.

Priest's who have this should get http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13031. The Off-hand is cheap on most cases. With both items you get +20 healing AND + 20 shadow damage. Perfect for shadow priests or healing priest

In 3.0 right now this will grant +6 Spell Power and +7 Shadow Spell Power. Though they might end up making it generic spell power only like they did with the Orb of Mistmantle.

If anyone has a priest or a rogue ill run them through the dungeon and get them it.p.s. i have a rogue so if anyone who has a lvl 40 or over can u plz run my rogue.add exzavier so i can run u and exjr so u can run this alt of mine.Razorfen kraul is messed up but is also a good place to get twink items,:)

This weapon is arguably decent for any caster that can use a mace. The +1 spirit is really not much of a buff, but the +9 spell power is great for a caster of any class. Right now, I'm thinking an elemental shaman would benefit from this weapon quite well. Grab this and a decent shield (w/ some intellect to make up for this weapon's lack of stats) and you'll be good to go. Plus, the max dps is one of the highest for a single hand weapon in this level range which is nice for those elemental shamans who feel the need to crack some skulls every now and again.
