I read a post on the forums that the mechanic of this trinket makes it such that, while the use is activated, you're immune to crushing blows. The only way I would think this would be the case is that, the coding on the trinket treats incomming attacks as being blocked, and thus, reduced by a set ammount, for the duration. If so, this would be a 20 second uncrushability shield.

Can this be confirmed?

The real beauty of this trinket is that it acts like a "shield block" to every hit, therefore meaning that they cant be crits or crushing blows.

I got this on my warrior, and the cooldown does not trigger that of Dabiri's Enigma (+125 block rating) nor Charm of Alcrity (+192 dodge), meaning that you can fire one then the other.

This a real joy, and makes life much more manageable, scaleable and controllable for raiding.

While it's good for me as a warrior, it's simply a MUST HAVE item for a druid tank, who have no other way of mitigating crushing blows.

The use on this trinket is just of disappointing. I use it as a tank purely for the +36 stamina due to lack of other good tanking trinkets.

If you can hit the 490 defense measure without a second trinket, this is a very good choice.

You can easily beat 22k HP with these one and more stamina/tank gear.

A crushing blow on a warrior, thought it happens rarely, can be very damaging. A crushing blow on a druid is far less of a problem: more stamina and more armor.

If a boss has a 2.0 attack speed, wouldnt it only absorb 680 damage?

Apparently, the enemy would have to have a ~1.176 attack speed to fully use up the shield in the 20 seconds.

So I guess its better to use it against multiples enemies.

Agreed. 36 Stamina, that's 3 Solid Star of Elune's worth right there. The on use effect comes into its own tanking trash, never mind bosses. With only a 2 minute cooldown, you can basically use it every pull.

This is a fantastic tanking trinket, whether you're paladin, bear, or warrior.

kind of pisses me off when i found out you werent immune to crushing blows when using the absorb feature on it. I once thought this was the best druid tank trinket on the market just for that reason =/

I took this on my hunter alt who i use for pvp/arena, i got plenty of /w calling me a ninja till i mentioned its pvp applications then i they got very upset that they didn think of that too :)

Very nice for flag carriers in WSG.

I'm using this as a priest in PvP. An interesting thing to note is that when the shield is active, melee attacks on you do not use up Inner Fire charges, even if they deal damage to you. Very useful trinket when you get focussed.

note that it should also be useful for the mage or lock that occasionally needs to AOE a large number of small hitting mobs, this would absorb the minor damage coming from many mobs, which may actually consume the absorbtion limit completely.

question to rogues, if a bleed or dot effect is completely absorbed, would it still break stealth.
this could be tested with a rogue and a priest friend with rank 1 shadow word pain.

I am a little disappointed in Blizzard for not coming up with some neat buff you get when you use this. For example when you use the Gnomregan Auto-Blocker you get "Gnome Ingenuity" and when you use the Adamantite Figurine you get "Adamantite Shell". I was hoping for something fun to claim you received while going nuts and falling asleep tanking Halaa guards.

Quite an effective Pally tank trinket as well if slowly building your gear up and not being able to get the likes of the Darkmoon decks etc.

In most cases the Pally tanks job will be to AOE tank in raids, taking multiple hits from multiple targets, this trinket will help take the edge off the dps.

The use effect is pretty useless in it's current iteration.
Tested as a level 46 paladin with 10887 HP, absorbs 5-6 physical damage per attack up to 110 damage total.
