This item is looted from an object named Enchanted Hilt after doing a little legwork. The hilt is stuck in a piece of ice in the back left corner of the Sleet Rune Hollow cave in the SE of Val. When you loot the Enchanted Hilt you will get a buff, Testament, that invites you to kill rares to become worthy. I killed a couple rares on Val before I noticed the tooltip on Testament changed, to tell me to return for my prize. I re-clicked the Enchanted Hilt in the back of the cave and looted the Ice Guardian's Sleetblade.

I was only able to find this on the Heroic tier of Val. It was not visible in the Normal tier.

The world boss thing counts as a rare so you can really just jump in, grab the hilt, kill a rare/world boss then the opposite and be in and out in under 10 minutes

Do not try to pull this out after getting the second buff from killing the world boss or a rare if you are being attacked, if you get interrupted while attempted to pull it out it will remove your buff and you have to kill the world boss or a rare again.

You need 2x of the Vanquishing buff to be able to get this sword.

You can get this buff by either killing unique rares OR the world boss.
The unique rares spawn every 20 minutes.

Notes about the buffs:
- Testament (the buff to kill the rares) lasts 30min and persists through death.
- 擊倒 (the buff from killing the rares) lasts 30min and exists independently of Testament--if Testament times out, Vanquishing does not. If you kill one rare but Testament times out while you're waiting for a second, you can just go back to the cave and pick up Testament again. If you then kill another rare before Vanquishing times out, it does count as completion and you can go pick up your lightsaber (did this personally as of June 25th, '26). Good luck!

證明 will be removed/lost if you leave Val (I did Ahune while waiting for rare to spawn and it disappeard), but you can just get the buff from the hilt again.
but 擊倒 was not removed.

Did all the requirements and returned but the hilt was gone. Dying, reloading, and relogging didn't bring it back. Buff ended up running out. :(

Cosmetic note: In the dressing room, it has a cool "Lightsaber extending" animation. But if you have it visibly equipped (either at the hip by default, or on the back), the blade is fully visible and extended at all times, and you don't see this animation.

HOWEVER, if you choose the "hide while sheathed" transmog option, you DO get the animation when you draw the blade. This is the only way I've found to trigger it.

After i had the 2 buffs needed, i could not see the hilt.

Relogged but nothing helped.

Still had the timers going.

Gated to Arcantina.

Went back to try again, the Testament buff gone but the Vanquishing spell still going.

The hilt was there and was able to complete the (quest), so even if i gated and went back i could complete it.

So no i dont understand this (quest)

Right guys

If you get 2 rares, and you go back to the cave and the sword isn't there, simply leave Val, and go back to the sword.

i had a bug where i had the Vanquishing buff x 2, but the sword wasn't there. I tried relogging, that didn't work, so i risked leaving the instance and then went back in, and this worked straight away.

I'm assuming you still need the Vanquishing buff though..

If you cannot see the hilt in the ice and u have 2 stacks of Vanquishing you can hearthstone out of the zone and come back in and you will be able to loot it. The buff does not go away when you leave the zone.

It's a kind of a mog that cannot be enchanted but you may add some visuals pressing the "Ignore Slot" button in Transmog interface while the Weapon Enchantment is selected. In that case your 寒冰守護者霰刃 will inherit the Weapon Enchantment from the previous applied Outfit Slot. My favorite is 強效法術能量.

I got the Ice Guardian's Sleetblade, however, it did not look right.
Looked like a couple of floating snowballs.
The fix was to crank up my graphics card to a higher setting.
then it looked like it should

As an FYI instead of waiting for a rare (The skull mobs do not count) just kill the world boss twice. I just did this. It was close on time but it worked and I got the sword. Oh and you can die with the "Vanquishing" buff and you will not lose it. I do not know about the original buff. A Video suggested you lose that one if you die.
