What I like about this robe? It's excellent RP-wear, it's not THAT hard to get, and for anyone using cloth as their armor type, it's got a really nice buff for the level of the garment.

Plus, it's rather unique, as I don't believe the quest chain is linked into any others in the area. You'll stumble across the questgiver in pursuit of another quest or two, but no one sends you to him specifically. This means not everyone will do it, and as a result not everyone will get the gear.

If you just like the upper part of the robe you could go for Jessera's Fungus Lined Tunic which is also a quest reward from Bloodmyst Isle.

For transmog purposes, this matches pretty well, along with the belt and these gloves.

For a very mage-like transmog to go with this dress, check it out here in ModelViewer along with some other armor and a staff (from Dire Maul) I found went super well together. :) The cloak is definitely optional and can be switched out. Everything else is crafted by tailors 190-375.

With the introduction of the new transmog system, you can finish the quest on a cloth-wearing Alliance character and then have it in you Horde character's wardrobe. Exactly what I did for my belf.

Also, I highly recommend 好戰鬥士殘虐之索 as the belt. Fits pretty well. Can buy it in Ashran for a single 榮譽獎章.
The mark is account bound, so I could mail it from my Alliance main to my Horde alt as well.

If you aren't a cloth wearer, you can't get this item anymore. You automatically get stuck with your class's armor type. So much for being awesome for rpers who aren't cloth wearers. I hate this change to quests that Blizz did.
