Ok, when i did this quest, i decided to let myself get 5 stacks of their Debuff, it changed into a debuff that lasted 10 seconds, rooted you, and dealt about 500 damage per 2 seconds, had to use Imp Sprint to take it off before it killed me, pallys beware. you may not be able to kill these things fast enough.

Don't forget that Watcher Leesa'oh sends you to do A Question of Gluttony after you investigate Spawning Glen - so you'll pick up a few more while you do that.
I always forget, end up grinding for ages, then picking up more than I needed when I do her followup quest.

Make sure you are killing the right mobs. I spent about 20 minutes killing Fungal Giants until i realized that they didn't drop tendrils.

I know this is a repeat of something that someone else already said but this is for people who haven't found out yet: the starving fungal giants have a bigger chance to drop this then the bog lords.

It's called 'luck', or lack thereof.

Since these do not have a 100% drop rate, it's theoretically possible that you could kill 1000 of these mobs and never see one drop, it's also possible you could kill 1000 of them and get 1000. The actual probability of either event happening is extremely low, but I'm just pointing out that it _is_ possible because it's a random drop based off a roll done by the game server.

Sometimes you get lucky and get a lot of them in a short period of time, sometimes you get unlucky and it takes a lot longer to collect them. Doing the quest before or after makes no difference at all, the only thing that does make a difference is the percentage drop rate, so you should concentrate on the mobs that have the highest drop %, which you will see if you click the Dropped By tab on this page. Starving Fungal Giants (33%), Bog Lords (30%) and Withered Bog Lords (28%) all have a fairly high chance to drop these. The other two mobs that can drop these only have 18% drop rates, so a good bit under the top 3, but still a reasonable drop rate.

the area given by the blizz map is not ideal. starving bog lords only have a drop rate of 18%. The normal Bog Lord's you can find a bit further to the east and of course in the mire. It's advisable to take the nutriment quest of the watcher killing some bog lords there during that quest.

You rarely find tendrills so if you are lvl 62-65 then you will have problems about killing them.But patience is a virtue dont just abandon it continue so you get the quest about slave pens and underbog.

I have never, ever, had a worse drop rate on a quest. It took me roughly 75 kills to get the 6 tendrils required. I went to 3 different camps (as marked by the quest on my map) and killed each of the monsters listed here (and each of them eventually dropped a tendril).

I have no idea why this quest is so bad. The only point of advice I can offer is that you'll have to kill the same monsters for A Question of Gluttony, so it's worth grabbing if you're going to stick with it.

I had herbalism and heirloom gear, so this wasn't nearly as painful for me as it could have been but if you are at all concerned about your leveling speed, I would strongly suggest that you skip this.

Yeah the drop rate is still low, but I found the best place to farm them, Deadmire, pull 3-4 giants(every type should be fine) and AoE loot them, I completed the quest in a pair of minutes :)

Never did this as an Herbalist before. Herbalists note, dead Bog Lords and Fungal Giants can be "mined" after death for various herbs or mote of life and often drop Unidentified Plant Parts, for the repeatable turn-in for Cenarion Expedition rep (10 plants per turn-in = 250 rep. Quest = Identify Plant Parts. Turn in to Lauranna Thar'well Coordinates 80.2, 64.2 at Cenarion Refuge).

Hey guys, I think i've got a way to get those tendrils faster.. You can kill Withered Bog Lord's at The Dead Mire. I'm not sure why too, but in that area there's more Bog Lord's then The Spawning. I got all 6 tendrils in about 15 minutes. I hope this helps you people.. ;D Please 'up' my comment if this helps you. Thanks guys! :D
