Look around you, if you see broken bits of wood and an open book you're very close, that's your pillar! Go to the right and you'll see lots of grass and broken rocks (anticlockwise around the pillar). Next to the very large rock fragment, move your mouse around and you'll spot what you're looking for! :D I sent a screenshot too.

If you can't find it, you have to use the torch on the other side of the circle of pillars. That will burn some ruins and reveal a stone. After that, equip the cap and then the mold will show up.
