This item is great for any skinner capable of weilding a sword. On a more important note, looking at the damage, speed, proc, and attack power, this would best benefit a fury duel weild warrior lacking on weapons, as it's way too slow to tank with and way too fast for a rogue to main hand. I don't know why a paladin would ever use this item.

As the "Also serves as a skinning knife." shows, you just need to have it in you inventory to be able to skin, no normal skinning knife needed.
The +10 skinning only applies when equiped, as usual.

I ran ZG with a friend today to get him the Tiger and this dropped, I won it and found that it went into my Leatherworking bag, and still works as a skinning knife without having it equipped. Thus I can delete my normal knife in my normal bags and free up a normal bag space.

Just a heads up for anyone that always has extra room in their lw bag. :D

Confirming Wiimage's comment. This increases in damage with your spell power. It's doing 750 procs and around 1400 crits on my 80 prot pally. Proc chance is trash, though.

Me being a BF rogue with skinning at max and this sword in my bags, I seem to be able to skin Animated Laborer´s in the northern region of Icecrown... I don´t loot leather, but all sorts of crazy @#$%, like lockboxes, a few silvers and old wagonwheels!

I haven´t them with a regular skinning knife yet though :D

Go skin the skeletons, skinners! :D

I was playing around with this weapon on my warlock and it crit for 5625 Nature Damage lol, it hits harder than my haunt.

With 4.0 it actually shows the damage range on the weapon, based on your SP.

It says over 3.3k for my Warlock. I thought "Wow, that's OP as fook at 60, that can't be right.." so I came to check here, and yeah.

This item is pretty cool, a guildie of mine has it and was the only one able to skin anything in Ruby Sanctum because of it (skinning level of 455 required in RS; currently capped at 450). There was a, "Whoa, what the heck?" moment when we all realized he was the only one able to pick up the skin before he linked this in the raid. xD

Confirmed that proc scales with SP pretty good : on my Enhancement Shaman it shows chance on hit : 11k damage. What a pity I can't equip it and measure proc chance, it could be an awesome weapon =)

While this item is no longer obtainable in-game, there are 2 alternatives for skinners looking for that extra +10 for skinning: 祖利安斬刃 and 皮普的剝皮刀.
