May be helpful to note that you can obtain the mount on any number of Mawsworn Supply Chests - it does not have to be your first chest of the day to obtain the loot. I received the mount on my 10th or so chest of the day on that toon, ~50th chest overall. I had toons on different realms camped on Antecedent Isle (island on northern part of ZM) that I would periodically hop through, and every 15-20min there seemed to be another chest up on each realm to loot.

幽靈淵喉污鼠的尾巴 can drop from any 淵誓補給箱 on the island. You can obviously choose the hardcore method and brute farm it with the help of realm hopping (I will write down how to do this), or you can just get it passively with your own pace.

How to brute farm the mount (It's been confirmed you can loot it randomly, and the chests are not once per day lockout):

1. Park yourself at the Antecedent isle. The island has only 4 chest locations, meaning they are abit clumped up.
2. Realm hop with the help of the group finder. There are millions of groups up for the rares. Just join random groups, check if the chest is up, loot it, leave. If the chest isn't up, just leave. Important to note: Wait a few seconds to actually see if you zoned to a different realm. The lag is massive (usually because of Dune dominance rares) and sometimes phasing is abit slower.

How to normally, or how I farmed this mount:

I have 12 alts anyways, and the best gearing option for all my low geared is Zereth Mortis. I kill alot of rares, and since the 3 Dune dominance ones give you free 246 ilvl weapons, I hang there most often. On some I see the chests, on some I don't. The ones I see, I just loot, on the ones I don't, no issue, just log another one or wait abit.

I received the mount on my roughly 60th chest. From all the gathered data so far, I would assume it has a 0.5% ish droprate.

why the heck are they adding hundreds of new mounts with each patch. Its getting too much, in BC we collected 30 mounts total and today SL xpac alone has 300 mounts to collect, pure inflation. Back in the day you felt special when new mount was added, now its just one more. The totals achievement hasnt been touched for years now, dont get their strategy on mounts. Pets is similar.

Similarly to what Pihalecsmrti mentioned, there is another location for Mawsworn chest farm using realm hopping.

You can find the location here: /way 60.18, 31.07

Three confirmed Mawsworn chest spawns that I found in this location are here:
/way 59.40, 31.39
/way 60.10, 32.35
/way 60.95, 30.55

There are a lot of mobs and it can be quite crowded but I personally found this area much easier and faster to farm compared to Antecedent Isle as the caches here are very close to one another.
It is also best to use a class that has stealth and ability to stealth during combat as you will more likely aggro the wardens when looting the chest.

Received this mount after 308 boxes. Don't lose hope! There are some positives as well that you can think of if you end up grinding for a long time: gold from selling Progenitor Essentia and lots of Cyphers of the First Ones that you need regardless to unlock the meta zone achievement.

I ended up farming around the Dune Dominance bosses as a druid using stealth around the epic mobs. I tried avoiding realm hoping to groups that have less than 5 members already in them - annoying as a leader to have people join and leave immediately but I thought that with a large group that doesn't matter as much.

I have looted 558 chests and still no mount drop. The drop rate is abysmal. If you want to realm hop with the least amount of disruption to other players, I recommend joining Antros world boss groups. They will mostly be auto accepted invites anyway.

344 boxes and here we are. All made by myself without any group jumping (we are not unpolite pieces of jumpers, right?)
500k of gold on spheres, 2k+ of ciphers, 29k of cosmic flux. In my opinion best way is to do it as druid in bird form.

Finally got 幽靈淵喉污鼠的尾巴 after 605 chests. The drop rate is indeed around 0.5%. Don't give up, the 創先者精華 you can loot will at least give you some gold. Each chest will also give 1% credit towards 計畫中的計畫 so you can at least multitask.

My favorite spot is chilling on top of the pyramid at /way 60 32. There are two chests that spawn on the front left and front right on the base of the pyramid. There is also another chest that spawns ahead below the stairs, to the left beside the cages. The chest on the left base side of pyramid can be looted on the pyramid without aggroing the mob there.

If you realm hop (Antros groups are great, and won't disrupt other players much), you can get a lot of chests here. I averaged 5-20 chests per hour here with no need to fly around.

The chests will stay active for a minute or two after another player loots them but will disappear off the minimap, so be sure to manually check if they are still there. The chests have a respawn time between 5 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Just had this drop for me out my 2nd mawsworn chest while doing dailys, had no idea it was so rare, perhaps this is for those 1000s of icc runs i had to do, pretty cool mount also sadly its just using the hyena rig with the shadehound noises.

***WORTH READING BEFORE HUNTING THESE CHESTS***

Farming method:

Fly around in 1 direction cycling through the spawn points already mentioned on this comment section.

You will only server hop once you have done the route 3 times and didn't find any chest, there should always be an Antros group around for this purpose (I must stay I rarely had to server hop)

You want to CHECK FOR YOURSELF every spawn point regardless you see the minimap icon, here is why:

-I've seen chests icons on mini map and found the chest somewhere else, this also cleared the minimap icon.
-I've opened chests where I couldn't see any minimap icon (Icon could have been out of my reach).
-I've seen minimap icons and then see the chest spawn right there after a bit, however I don't recommend camping them but flying around instead.
~~-I think spawn points rotate with days, I noticed patterns depending on the day that I was farming this.~~
-I don't know if they spawn by pair and/or whether you need to clear both chest for timer to start, however it does seem they spawn by pair.
-Clearing other types of chest won't have any effect on this.
-There are 1 or 2 spawn points not listed in this thread but are really close to the ones marked.
-I am almost certain that War Mode share CD on both, there was one day where regardless my WM setting I would see the chest icon on minimap but the chest was
nowhere to be found, I spent a whole day coming back and forth and it remained the same until next soft reset, maybe the chest was not marked on minimap
and noone opened due to been on tricky spot (This happened before I learned all the tricks I am sharing.
-I don't really like tracking the amount of chest/rares I've tried before getting something but by the time I am writing this I am close to 100 chests and still no mount.

304 chests in and this is feeling super discouraging. Rarity considers me "unlucky", and then I read people with 500+ attempts and I can't help but imagine I'm heading down that same path. I've spent days here flying circles. I feel like I'm going crazy.

I can confirm that it still drops in Dragonflight.
I was very unlucky and got it after 576 boxes.
If you don't want to fly around (like me), I can recommend that you stand on the stone at coordinates /way 48.73 46.12.
There you have 5 chests within reach which you can see on the minimap.

I gotta be honest, this has been the most mind-numbing and frustrating mount farm I have ever done. I was 600+ attempts when I gave up the first time. Since then I had reset my addons and UI and lost my Rarity count. I've restarted it and currently have 327 attempts recorded. I've been swapping between 3 characters. One WM off, two MW on (one of these on an RP realm). I even at one point had a second account going so I could double loot chests.

Update: I got the mount today after just over 1000 attempts total. 373 attempts since my initial attempts were wiped from Rarity. I know I sound very dramatic but out of 600 mounts this was my unluckiest by far. About 4 hours after making my initial comment... lol.

Just got it while doing cyphers of the first ones. Seeing as most people have a hard time farming this I'd venture a guess that the drop chance is higher while the quests are active. Might warrant some further study if anyone is up for it. I was on the quests Keys To Victory, Cleaving a Path and A Matter Of Motivation. Venthyr covenant active at renown 80 on a level 70 Havoc DH if that helps.
