Once 決心罩氅，艾夏卡瑪斯 is Rank 15 惡毒核心 will be obtainable once per week by completing a full clear of a horrific vision (All four areas + Thrall/Alleria) OR killing N’zoth on Normal difficulty or higher.

If you fall behind and miss a week then there is a catch up system in place that will allow you to earn a 惡毒核心 from doing BOTH of these activities, allowing you to earn a maximum two per week instead of one until you are caught up with everyone else.

Been seeing some post around the various sites suggesting that if you didn't hit rank 15 by March 24th you wouldn't be able to loot a core until the week after, this is incorrect.

If you are wanting to know when is the absolute final day that you have to start collecting Malefic cores, if you want to reach +125 resistance on the first week it is available (week of September 8th), that day is June 16th. Given what was in the blue post, it stated that if you are behind you can only acquire 2 cores per week (one from a full clear no mask run, and the second from a normal or higher N’Zoth kill). Additionally as stated by several people from this 1st week of Malefic core availability, you do NOT need to have gained a rank 15 cloak the week prior. You can squeeze out your 4 runs needed the week of June 16 to get rank 15 cloak and then do another run afterwards to get your first malefic core. Now you have 2 choices. You can either take it easy that week and work on other characters or you can choose to kill normal or higher n’zoth to get your second core. And then for every week after that you absolutely have to do the above mentioned full clear and normal+ n’zoth kill until the week of September 8th. On that final week if you have done 23 upgrades you will have to then do what you did the prior week to get your remaining 2 upgrades. Or if you have 24 upgrades you can pick either the vision or nzoth kill.

This is all information relating to cloak progression as of March 25th. +125 is the resistance cap as datamined a long while ago. With the hard date of September 8th being the final upgrade week, it stands to reason that logically Blizzard would not have a pre-patch during ongoing current content (regardless of how you may feel, trivial timegated +3 upgrades are still content). The absolute earliest a pre-patch could drop would be September 15th, lasting at a minimum of 4 weeks given recently trends. Which would place shadowlands launch on October 13th.

Realistically the date will be way after that, because a visible closed alpha has not dropped yet; the starkness of the Blizzcon demo (and lack of information afterwards); the usual extreme catchup mechanisms to bring people up to speed (black prince rep weeks and increased drops; multiple crystalized fel acquisition methods; and sargeras sword steroids for mage tower). The latter of which could occur and allow people to get multiple (more than 2) malefic cores per week from likely chain running visions, after the final September 8th upgrade. Additionally pre-patch could last for 6 weeks (remember all the fun buggy times during the BFA pre-patch, level squish will no doubt have issues). 1-4 weeks of catchup, and then 4-6 weeks of pre-patch. Add those on after the final upgrade and a November/December launch date is looking real, even before the recent world events.

Thank you for reading thus far and the second half was a bit extra, I just wanted to point out a logical timeframe we will have in this final stage of BFA. This structure, as it is right now, does indeed have impact on when Blizzard deemed at the earliest BFA content would end (cause Blizzard themselves set it up).

Tl;dr: Absolute deadline to get rank 15 cloak is the week of June 16th. Do a fifth vision doing a full clear no mask for your first core. Take it easy that week or kill normal+ Nzoth for 2nd core. Every week after that do full clear and normal+ nzoth. September 8th week, do vision or nzoth for 25th upgrade. Or if you have only gotten 23 upgrades (119 on cloak), get your final two upgrades to get up to 125 resistance. There you are done and caught up to everyone else that did 25 weeks of timegated content.

Seems silly to say but be sure to have more than enough inventory space when doing a Horrific Vision (full clear) or N'zoth (normal or higher). Especially because, if you don't loot your Malefic Core, it will not be mailed.

i can see some classes having a harder time catching up then others. be it classes that cant solo a vision easy or/and people that cant find good nzoth raids (probably on normal caz that's the easiest)

I just tested whether it's possible to get two 惡毒核心 in the same week just by clearing Horrific Visions twice in catch-up mode.

The answer is "No." You need to clear a Horrific Vision and kill N'zoth on Normal or higher to get two cores in one week.

To me this kind of blows becuase pugging N'zoth is not the easiest as getting people to go down can be difficult at times. Wish I could just instead run 2 visions for the core so I don't have to deal with pug groups for the second one. Along with being able to get them on LFR as well, would make it worlds better in my opinion.

EDIT: Didn't realize normal was like lfr to where you can go down twice for the mind gate, should be easy enough then for me so long as a good enough group consistently goes down.

Don't think this is addressed yet.

If you kill Nzoth on normal, while your cloak is lower than R15, will you still get a mafic core to upgrade a rank? or does the item not drop unless you have an R15 cloak?

Hmm... This is yet another gamechanger for those who are dedicated to pvp, but dont do m+ or raid. BfA really favors pvpers who also raids and run high keys on weekly basis as pvp is all about pve gear in this expansion.

I guess it's time to check out for good if this continues in Shadowlands.

On 15th April I received a malefic core from SW Vision. Tried to use it and received message "That item cannot be modified". So corruption level remained 59. Tried to contact GM (bugreport) but alas no succes. On 23 April I received an additional Core from OM Vision. Tried to loot it and received message "You cannot have more than one item in your bag (I kept the one of the previous week). So I still cannot upgrade corruption resistance of the cloak (should go ip to 65 by now. I have updated the bugreport (already open for 9 days). Any help would be appreciated...

I can confirm that if you just hit rank 15 on cloak, you can complete another full clear to obtain a Malefic Core in same weekly reset.

You can't loot this item from mail, so be sure you loot it inside the raid, because it drops just once per week, you loot it or not
Also, if you bug after killing nzoth and you don't auto-teleport, kill yourself jumping out (thanks voreck)

Is there any script that gives you some information if you already looted a Malefic core from visions every week? I've got about 5 characters that I'm trying to catch up but I tend to forget if I already did my weekly vision or not on them. I'm not pushing for sockets or anything, so I don't generally do more than one vision per week unless I really feel like it.

I can understand when this grind-a-thon model first came out, but it's a bit late now.

Apparently, Malefic Cores can only level Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve up to 125 resistance.
You don't get more Malefic Cores after this cap by completing Visions, and you can't use the ones bought from Mother neither.
Well, BFA is truly over, i guess.

It appears that this item is no longer of any use, and does not do anything obvious when applied to a Rank 15 Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve. I obtained one core from completing a Horrific Vision, and also purchased one from MOTHER, and upon using both cores on the cloak nothing changed regarding any of the tooltip stats, so I assume this was mostly related to the now defunct Corruption mechanic and applying these to the cloak does nothing.
