Taptaf is a new battle pet from Battle for Azeroth expansion using the newly updated pig model.

He's fairly easy for Alliance to get as he appears on the south eastern coast of their faction dominated questing zone in Drustvar at cords (67.8 79.3).

You can scale the mountain but another easy way is to use a water walking mount and go along the coast until you reach a small dock, leading up a hill where you see a faction neutral gnome named Idej the Wise who is you can kill but isn't hostile out right. Killing the gnome the pig instantly offers you the quest Taptaf the Pig!
which you just accept to get this cute piggum. Enjoy!

The german name for this Pet roughly translates to fatty if you read it backwards.
The englisch version backwards brings up the Rapper Fat Pat.

As said: Taptaf -> fat pat, however this sounds almost the same as: fat pet
and one you forgot: idej the wise -> jedi the wise (this one you have to kill and the pet comes forward)

if he wont give you quest after you killed Idej, try to fly away enough that he dissapear, then come back. I had this issue today and this idea came upon my mind. It worked.

Anyone managed to do this recently? I've just killed Idej the Wise about 6 times to no avail. No quest. I've flown away, I've logged out and in again, I've allowed Taptaf to be killed by Molten Eruption and tried again after respawn. Nothing. Starting to think it's bugged.

Is this something that can be repeated, perhaps daily or weekly? I can fight the gnome, pick up the pig once ... but can't seem to get the pig again.

If you listen to Idej babble a bit, he attempts to polymorph Taptaf with a few spell fragments.

If you write those spell fragments backwards, similar to Taptaf's name being "Fat Pat" backwards you get the following:

"Ta ergsi leinad!" = Daniel is great
"Leinad something... Nos fatsug?" = Daniel Gustafson
"Nolem asi Taptaf!" = Fat Pat is a melon

Also, "Idej" is simply "Jedi" backwards.

I have no idea who Daniel Gustafson is, or why the rapper Fat Pat is a "melon", though.
