i must agree that the drop rate is much lower than the averages posted. i would say the average is more like 7%-9% or less. and considering the blue dragonscale patterns require at least 30-35 scales each it makes me wonder why they dont bumb the drop rate up. it will take at least a week just to make one or two items.

The ones in Winterspring seem to drop more Blue scales the Worn Scales.

As of 4.0.3a, with the removal of the Blue Dragonflight from Azshara and Winterspring, the only known way to still get these scales are from members of the Chromatic Dragonflight in BWL and UBRS.

Blizzard really screwed over the leatherworking dragonscale plans with Cataclysm. The Green Dragonscale Leggings pattern doesn't even drop anymore because they removed the place where it can be found--the bottom level of Sunken Temple. Yet the Leggings still exist? And now the only way to get blue dragonscales is from BRS or BWL? With even more of an abysmal droprate than ever?

I guess it's a moot point since it's so easy to level characters nowadays, but better find equipment elsewhere.

Wowhead claims that two patterns that these are reagent for are gone from the game. :/ What am I to do with blue dragonscale leggings without the rest of the set? Yo Blizz, put them back!

If you're interested in crafting a Blue Dragonscale item for transmogrification, I would suggest checking the auction house for them whenever you get the chance. Farming them yourself will take way way way too much effort and I was able to get my 30 dragonscales for the shoulders for around 70 gold across 3 months of checking (I didn't check very often, but there was usually a couple of them up half the time I checked).

Currently there's no feasible way to farm or even loot this item besides going to BWL with a skinner and pray chrommagus drops some when you skin it. If you're an old leatherworker like me, I suggest you open a ticket/submit bug in order to let them know of this issue.

The thing that bugs me most about the fact that you can't farm this any more since Cata removed all of the npc's in both winterspring and UBRS that provided it. But that they went out of their way to let you skin MC Core leather from the Core Hounds in Firelands.

Like seriously, how hard would it be to just add blue scales to the skinning table of the blue dragons in the Coldarra?
